    I really appreciate your posts.

    Sunbeam thanks for sharing your experience. I know it must be a pain to repeat your story whenever a newbie joins but it really is helpful to hear from everyone who is successfully abstaining.

    I hope everyone else is ok

      My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

          sure beats a hangover, huh?
          what color is your hair Nora?? I went from blonde to chestnut brown. I am getting used to it and my gazillion wrinkles now look like only a million!

              Just taking it "one step at a time" need to snap out of this feeling blues routine, I think it has to do with me having to go on the road again next week for a week. Sooo not looking forward to that, fly to Spokane for a few and then right back to Miami and then home... yukkkk

              AF with a few speed bumps during 2014 & 2015 but will succeed.
              As of 4/12/2014 I have not smoked at all and feel great.

                    Thanks for the update on Zen. I've been watching for her.

                    Didn't change my hair color just now there's no white showing. Zebra look is gone. :H So, I'm officially blondish/brown again.

                    I'm at work. Came in to set up a computer and running into problems. :upset: Going to try to order a computer with a floppy drive. Still use it to make some machine tapes. Old fashioned method. I wanted to just order an external floppy but I'm going to check this out first. I hurt my back when I twisted wrong. Aarrgggh.

                    Hope that everyone is doing well. Thinking of you FT. I keep having those thoughts again. Very different.....not a compulsion...just not ready to say never. Oh well - I don't need to say never. I'm not drinking today. (Actually, I took my AB today so I won't be drinking for a week. I like not having to deal with it.)

                    Ok - enough of my sob story. Catch you all later. Off to Dell.com.

                      Hi friends,
                      Nora, at some level it is just one day at a time for all of us. You described what's different now very well: the thought of drinking is there, it just isn't taken seriously.

                      I attended a gardening event today, an exchange of seeds and house plants. It gets me excited thinking about spring, but I still have a lot of indoor things to accomplish before I start spending every free moment outdoors again.

                      We had a large old tree removed today. It has been developing a lot of dead branches as it nears the end of its life span. Our power lines run through it so it had to go. I will enjoy having more sun for my back garden, but it takes a long time for a tree to grow so it is also sad.

                        Checking in today.

                        Sun, I can't wait for Spring either. I planted two types of cherry trees and several blueberry bushes as well as help a dear friend plant a little orchard in her yard this past fall and hoping/praying everything survived and will start to grow soon. Hasn't been a real bad winter but ready for it to move on.
                        2023 - focus, getting it done, and living the way it should be and being the person I need to be.

                          Our usual celebrations have been a bit subdued this year due to the weather.

                          It's pretty wild at the moment, including ?fire, floods, destructive winds, heavy rain, high tides, dangerous surf and tornadoes? - and that?s just in Queensland. You have to love 'Straya - at least it's never boring!

                              It's been pretty stormy here for the last few days but apparently the worst of it is heading down the coast and due to hit here later this afternoon. We don't usually get tornadoes in this part of Oz, but we're used to cyclones and floods so we're well prepared.

                              But just in case - if there are any MWO peeps in Kansas can you keep an eye out for me? I'll be arriving with a VERY grumpy cat under my arm. :H
