Thanks so much for the wonderful star! With encouragement like this I feel a lot stronger! It's such a hard habit to break on your own. I haven't confided in my family for a couple of reasons....one I'm too embarrassed to admit how much I've actually been drinking and two...they don't realize how much of a struggle it is.....hubby hardly drinks at all and has always been the DD.....he just prefers to always be in control. I used to think I had to drink in order to have fun. Have changed my way of thinking in that department now. It's NO fun to wake up hungover the next day.....I just have wasted so many days feeling like I'm just getting through it.

Nelzies little elves have been busy!

NewDay - I think most of us hid the truth about our drinking...I know I did. I don't think anyone in my family realized I was drinking 12+ beers every single night, even when I'd "joke" about it, I think they thought I was exaggerating.

Time to stop merely surviving the day and really start living it, eh? You CAN do this and we can help.

Absolutely it is time K9! I want to feel happy again......although I was never one of those with a real sunny outlook on life even before Al.......my father was an extreme worrier.....to the point of it being a mental condition and my brother has more of that trait than I do, but it's still there.
I'm hoping to at least find more joy in my life and I know that is only,possible without AL in it.
