Tolerance is tolerance basically...once the brain chemistry resets the bar so to speak...it just takes more of any altering substance to do its job. That's why heavy drinkers are so darn tough to put under - we are a challenge to anesthesiologists for sure.
And yes...my drinking did damage my colon. But it sure seems to be healing now that I'm not flooding the innards with ethanol. I was on the path to diverticulitis and other horrors when I finally stopped drinking once and for all. If you google "colon cancer and alcohol" you might be shocked to read what the latest research says. Drinking sure shortens our lives and the quality of our lives.
