    Army Thread Monday 7th January

im here now, had a big crazy busy day which is good, had to go to a meeting for volunteers this evening which was very interesting. Going to watch corrie now, hope its bloody exciting!! I'm a week today and feeling great, no cravings so far, just telling myself whenever I may think of it that I CHOOSE not to drink!

That's great Limers! It's amazing really how what we tell our heads can turn our thoughts around - if ya know what I mean. I used to think stuff like that was sort of childish - but it really is a back to basics thing this addiction - delighted for you!
I'm absolutely knackered tonight. My days work seemed to go on for a week Can't wait for Thurs!!!
You make Hippy HAPPY to Molly. So does this whole army group! Thanks for being my friend! :l

A down day will probably happen but I am just so damn happy to have another chance at life. It is truly amazing. My last drunk nearly killed me. I asked another alcoholic to move in and save my life. He stayed right by my side while I went thru horrible withdrawals. I was so weak I couldn't walk without help. I had alcohol poisoning. He got me sober. Baclofen is keeping me that way. Without it I just can't say no to alcohol. With it I LOVE LIFE!!!

I s'pose what I'm trying to say is, that there will be bad days - and down in rehab, they used to warn us about getting TOO happy - or too high mebbe, as well as too low. It's a balance - shit, sounds like I'm saying don't be happy - Just be prepared for the 'slings and arrows' really!:l
I sound like a right miserable oul bint now:H
                    Makes perfect sense.

My bacinabit was longer than I thought. So I'm doing my midnight lurk a wee bit early.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

                            Quick check in .
Still a bit shocked after Sunday. We went for hike. That poor guy was standing beside us on Blue Mountain. Me and DD turned back. Mr Satz and young Satz sat talking to 2 of the young folk. One wandered off - then a sream and he was gone over. Young Satz rang emergency. Meanwhile we were at top of hike and he also rang us to give the phone to the police for directions. Harrowing to say the least. They didn't get him off cliff till next day.
