Has anyone is US gotten ins despite alkie?

I am wondering if there is any way I can get coverage in the US, private insurance, despite my previous alcoholism and other issues?

I am covered right now but am considering a big change in lifestyle and may likely end up without insurance. (Health insurance)

I would like to get private insurance if at all possible.

    Thanks,
    Cindi

I have no insurance and I'm pretty sure the cost would be outrageous with AL on your medical record. Good luck Cinders. I hope you find some!

      Hi, Cindi.

My COBRA ran out last year in February, and I was denied coerage by Anthem/Blue Cross. I had been in a very short term detox/rehab, and they charged my insurance. Was very embarrassing, as I'd workd at that insurance company and had to tell the agent, a neighbor, the truth. I was really upset, because I ended up with a big bill after the insurance refused to pay for anything more than two days, i think. the only insurance plan i was eligible for is one meant for those turned down by traditional plans. It was $800 a month, which I could not afford, so I still have no coverage. Hope that helps.

I have no idea what you are talking about, DooDoo. Not eeryone has a bad experience at rehab. I did a 28 day rehab last year--which I paid for myself--and it was a great experience.
