    My Day Two

My day two is off to a good start. Only took on lorazapam yesterday. Didn't seem to need the others. Even slept a little better. Took the first one today. Have to take three today. No craving yet but heard they start in the 3rd or 4th day. anyone know if that's true? Just going tyo take it easy today.

    My Day Two

I'm on day 2 as well, feeling good but know my cravings will be at their peak when I get home from work. Going to take some kudzu and l-glutamine and see if that helps. Yes, I heard that days 3-5 are the worst, but I'm trying not to think negatively and just see how it goes.

Hope you have a good day and best of luck to you

The first few days were the hardest. It does get easier and it's such a sense of freedom not having the bottle rule your world. Keep up the good work. We're all rooting for ya!

Congratulations to both of you for making it through day one and onto day two.

The "cravings" during withdrawal are a bit different than the cravings we have to deal with on an ongoing basis. You are dealing with a physical addiction right now. Take the meds as your doctor prescribed, CanDo. I can't stress that enough. It is for your safety as well as your comfort.

I have found in my alcoholic cycle that days 4 and 5 are the days I have started to feel physically better. At that point, your thoughts will turn to its old enemy for many reasons, triggers, if you will.

Mario posted a 4 Stages of Recovery. You might want to read it. It is very informative.

Keep on keepin' on, CanDo and Belles. A life of freedom awaits.

Great advise, I agree the first few days are the roughest. Don't loose sight of your goal and that is to be healthy and happy.

How is Day 2 going? I echo Cinders in saying to follow your doctor's orders for now. I think that cravings are an individual thing. I went 2 months with hardly any craving, then was hit hard for a day or two and also in my 3rd month. Now at 11 month I hardly think about it.

I just wanted to add that when I said I had hardly any cravings for the first 2 months, I'm talking about with this quit. I've tried to quit about 4 times before this and I was really sweating it out during the first few weeks then.

Flyaway Day two went well. No craving and just chilled at home. Workledd from home and shu the phones of at 4pm instead of six. Ate well and drank lots of water and OJ. Just found Costco copied the Dr's directions wrong but think, they think, the first few days were right. I'll call him in the morning and have him straighten out the rest because he lady at Costco said she thinks they copied the rest wrong. What a country.

Glad your second day went well iknowicandoit Mine was good too. I kept myself busy last night as much as possible and took some l-glutamine. not sure if it was a placebo effect, but I did feel a little better.

Onwards to day 3! we can do it!

Bellas7 glad yours went well also. My coping concept is keep busy. My doc agreed that quitting my part time teaching job was a smart move because it leaves me no time to finish this process. They weren't to happy. He said he'd give me a note if they want, non specific, to treatment of a medical condition but my dean never called me back. This is more important to me.
