    Army Thread 30th January

    Morning Troops

Tiggs, I am sorry to hear about your mum. What is it that is wrong? Is it serious?

Limers that was wonderful to read your gratitude journal yesterday. Are you writing a manual journal every day? Its a great idea, I keep wanting to do that.

RC, I saw you didnt get a definitive answer from your doc. I guess that is par for the course with feelings of tiredness. Espeicially around this time of year. My experience when I quit booze was extreme lethargy for approximately 3 months. It was very bad, the only thing that kept me going was the fact I was sober. I think it was just my body repairing from the damage I was doing. What helped was a protein shake (all One), rest and time. I did have blood tests but they didnt bring up anything conclusive.

Its going to be another manic busy one today at work but I am feeling good and grateful for lots of small mercies so that helps.

Have a good, no great day troopers!

Good morning Starty and all to come.

Starts, I'm quite fuzzy about porhyria myself. I do know that it runs in mum's family and that she had tested positive for the mutation. My very limited understanding is that it's a genetic condition (not a disease in itself) that can trigger a severe allergic reaction to things like certain types of medication. She hasn't been well over the past few weeks and have taken a few courses of antibiotics and other meds. If left untreated or misdiagnosed, it can be very serious and even fatal. Two of her aunts and a niece died of it, but only because doctors didn't know any better back then. The ER doctor said he simply didn't know enough and that we have to wait until this morning so that a specialist physician can examine her. I'm sure it's not all that serious, but one has to be careful. I'm popping over to the hospital in an hour or so to find out what's going on. I haven't been able to reach her on her cellphone.

Have a good Wednesday, everyone. At least its Hump Day.
    I'll do whatever it takes

Got to make a start on the dreaded tax return in a little while. Has to be in by the end of the month. I detest doing it and stupidly always leave it to the last moment.

Posted a link on the Weight Losers thread and thought I would post it again here in case anyone's interested. It explains quite a lot and ties in with my own experience when I had my AF stint last year.
