Mr S is watching the news and i'm sitting here with my finger in my ear (i'm deaf the other one) I just can't bear to listen to all the doom and gloom and I'm too lazy to go upstairs it seems like half the world is at war or starving.

Good for you for standing up for yourself, questie. Three hours of travel a day is way too much. I imagine they're bluffing (otherwise why didn't they sack you on the spot?), but if not, I still think you're doing the right thing. It wouldn't be much of a life, spending all that time in the car each day.

I'm doing canny, Soots.
Nope it wasn't suicide. Still waiting to hear the results of the post-mortem. He had lead quite a party life but totally cleaned up his act in the last 4/5 years.
Just got to nip out. Bacinabit. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Evening folks. :hallo:
Big hugs to all who are having to deal with loss in some way. Yes, it does seem as if January is a bit of a gloomy month. Like, there was a young girl found last week under a bridge over a motorway near where I live... poor thing, like only 14 and her pictures in all the papers. Life is so cruel, brutish and short sometimes, as Mr Hobbes once said.
Satzy and Questy - 2013 the year for new directions, new jobs. Why not? Exactly. You both seem to be in places where it is time to look at moving on.
And loved your post Satzy about the slow penny dropping. I think that's what it is for most of us here. Sure there are initial moments of euphoria, but the real "EUREKA!" moment is never actually a eureka, but a very slow burn. And from what I've read, and as I seem to understand it, the moment or realisation (slow burn, or sudden eureka) is just as satisfying.
Molls - get your feet up. You've been a busy gal.
