Morning Bridge - I've been thinking about your MKR post the other day and racking my brain to think of any adult family members or friends who actually never drink. I can only come up with two - my mum and a Viet Vet mate who stopped years ago after having a major issue with grog. Of course the degree to which they drink differs but they all drink. Bloody scary. I'm hoping there might be a generational change of attitude as displayed by my 17-yo nephew who thinks that anybody who drinks and/or smokes is a bogan. On the other hand, I think he feels that anybody over 40 is a bogan ...

I think the most offensive thing for me wasn't even the grog, it was the attitude. Do we persecute people because they have lactose intolerance? No. If they came to a DP with an allergy would we insist that they eat seafood and bring on anaphylaxis?
I can.not.stand people who think that everyone should live the exact way that they do. It's called dictatorship, and it's arrogant.

                Helllloooo everyone,

Wet, wet, wet in Niceyland. I'm into the yard as it is easy working the ground (errrr clay) at the moment.

I certainly hope there is a generational change regarding grog. I think my situ has had a sounding impact on my family. Although, one of my daughters can be a grog monster. She even spent some quality time here at MWO. But, as youth dictates she feels she has plenty of time to be 'boring' if it becomes a problem. I did suggest that a lot of the time it already is a problem. The attitude I sometimes encounter about being dry makes my blood boil. I find that it happens at the top of the society food change and the lower end - elitism and boganism may always be alive a well. I find people who are more mainstream (and probably better grounded) are more open to situ.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. We have a lot of people who give to others here. I admire you all. Happy shopping Mr G! Here's a soggy salute to you!

Tawny, I had a dream about your beautiful liver lady last night. How is her hubby traveling?

                Where's Missy?

Wow Techie, ten thousand posts! I bet you wish you had a dollar for every one of them. Enjoy your day of golf.

Hugs to Sunny and her little family.

Happy Saturday everyone. Be happy and spread the word......hugs mean much!

Yes Nicey, wet 'round these parts. I could've laid in bed all day listening to the rain on the roof.
One of the Mums at school is a non drinker. We were organising a dinner & she said simply, 'I don't drink so I'll drive' ...no one batted an eyelid & at subsequent dos she's there, lemonade in hand. She has very little patience for pissheads, I like her. And one of my closest friends out here in the 'burbs will occasionally have a glass of wine but she hates drunk. Her hubby is my Scottish mate, we've had a few convos lately about whether he has a drinking problem, I told him about youse lot.
Jones, I really can't fathom ever trying to convince someone to have drink when they don't want one.....maybe it's just us, we get it & respect it. Some people just need to grow up & stop being so naive.
So that's enough preaching to the converted.

Enjoy the golf Techie, I love the vibe when lots of people get together (if I'm in the mood) I thrive off the energy of others.
Hi Tawns, hi G...have a fabulous day everyone.
                  xo

Wow Nicey - you must be psychadelic! I've invited the hubby up for lunch tomorrow because he isn't traveling too well at the mo. Firstly there were all the usual anniversaries, Christmas, New Year, one month gone, two months gone and then a rather horrible shitfight with some family members because of ambiguous clauses in her Will.

It was due to Liver Lady that I became an Organ donor and I also went and tidied up my affairs on Thursday leaving no wriggle room for any unforeseen circumstances. My wishes are now perfectly clear and I can pop my clogs with gay abandon.

All that's left for me to arrange is a funeral director who'll quote me a cremation on a 'Per weight' basis because I hope to be thoroughly emptied out after my inevitable demise.

Hey Tawns, I say go for the cardboard coffin (if you're going in the ground) - economic & environmentally friendly. But don't be popping yer clogs anytime soon, we'd miss you
