Well, the chicken formerly known as Missy....is now Reggie....strangulated crows coming from the pen at 5. He stops when I feed them. So...maybe he wont have to go to the farm. Wishful thinking??

You know I've started trying something new each week, this week was oil pulling. I read here on holistics about it, tried doing it with olive oil, but bought some coconut oil yesterday. I'm hooked...just hope it has all the benefits everyone talks about and I'm not just swishing it around my mouth looking stupid...

Yesterday's efforts looked quite good this morning as I drove away from chez moi ! After we planted the robyn gordons, a couple of minor birds came for a look and a taste. Last night, FH was wondering how he can ensure only local natives visit our gardens. No pesky, common species are allowed he says. I just groaned, silently of course. I suggested he write a sign....perhaps put a couple of pics of the species allowed.....

Gloomy start to the day here. I'm actually at the command desk rushing on a deadline and the sky has cleared and the crows are calling. I hope that by the time my torture is over it is a bonza day out there.

FH is at golf, Lady Dharma is feeling poorly today and chomping on grass and being a bit precious, Oscar the cadaver dog was wondering where I was off to on a Sunday morning and Princess Lilly was grumbling about being made move when I made the bed....

Get into it you lot.....

Just shovelled all of the deep litter system out of the chook shed and onto the vegie beds...figure we can plant next month when it gets a bit cooler. Similar to last year I hope. The Lamp seems to be coming out of his dark spot of the last few weeks, so we are making some time to do stuff together today. Even if it includes working on the house and garden which he wants to move from...

Nicey, I'll take Oscar for a walk while you're out. Dharmsie can rest and well, you know the relationship between me and Princess Lilly....

Oh shoot, just lost a super long post!! I dont do that very often - it was because I was trying to do something clever!

Will re-write it later - all good here though!! We are just off to the stationary shop to get X's books and pencils etc for the start at his new school tomorrow (X is 7 year old son of my sort-of-daughter who has moved back here from Perth and is staying with us and looking after our house while we are in Sydney)

Happs - I love her blog; I did the oil pulling with the oregano oil. It was great, but I have to say let it slip as I usually forgot to do it first thing (old habit of just wanting to brush my teeth first).

Thanks Happs! Don't worry about Lilly, she has a poop dag on her butt and will NOT let me anywhere near her to get it off. She's doing it deliberately, AND she will NOT stay off my bed.....got the picture.

Oscar climbed up onto my lap last night. It was hilarious. He put his front legs in my lap, looked at me for a sec or two, then raised then front half of his body up to get a reaction. Once he was sure he wasn't going to get shooed he just climbed on up spread himself out and went to sleep. All you could see was my head and my feet.

Just read the oil pulling stuff (yes, I know I'm sposed to be working) and think I'll give it a go. 20 minutes pulling sounds a bit much???? Really, 20 minutes? Wouldn't you just have to spit it out after a long while but before 20mins.....???

I hope you and The Lamp enjoy the day in the garden. It is good for the soul I reckon!!

On the 'sponsed to be working' theme - why do HR always stuff things up so monumentally. Surely, if you are paying someone, giving them resources and everything that goes with employing a person, surely, surely, surely you'd know which dept they are in or who their boss is - surely??????? Why is it sooooo hard????

Ahhh...yes, I'm doing a bit of work now just while the Lamp goes to B.u.n.n.i.n.g.s. again.. mine is a love job for a girlfriend though so its supposed to be not like work??

Its amazing what you can do in 20 minutes Nicey. Pulling for that long sounds like a chore...but...

I hate dags on George's bum....so does he...particularly when I get out the hose...

Pssst....also from a website, I'm having haloumi on a salad for lunch...cooked it in the sandwhich press with a bit of oilive oil spray...delish...

Wonder what treats the Frogs guests brought??

I use to pull vodka for hours. 15 to 20min is nothing. Will do some more research on this oil pulling. Thanks Happs. I love those posts from Nicey. So good to see blondie. Missy is back YAY!

Hello Undies,
Spent all to-day preparing a steep area at the back of the yard for planting... it was dreadfully overrun with weeds. have mostly cleared, installed a bit of terracing and started to plant kangaroo paw. When next bit of terracing goes in next week, I'll pop in some Waratahs and a few miniature banksias.

The kookaburras were waitng patiently in the trees for me to go away so they could snaffle a worm or two that I'd dug up.

The Nigella cake I cooked was very sweet. I'll do it again but with half the sugar. Oh, and not in a silicone dish.

So I've been at the coal face today, one of the blokes went to see a movie last night....with a whole bottle of JD under his belt!!! Crikey, I said, I'm glad to be me today!!
