hi gang, ive not been on for ages.
i post so infrequently i feel like a visitor to the draw
i have some management issues some times at work too.
had my 6 monthly performance review recently, 4 months late.
i was told i was coasting and i could do better which i agreed a little, how ever i noted that if they thought that for 6 months plus the 4 months overdue, that was kinda coasting on their part to for 10 months!
then i had my pay review which is supposed to be offset to performance by 6 months, but was only 8 weeks due to lateness of first review. at the pay one they tell me even though they were 4 moths late on my review, and i had improved out of site, they could not give a good pay rise at it had only been 8 weeks...
then when a job oppertunity seem imenent, a job that i am the only person in the southern hemisphere who is trained to do, they trot out the old clasic, " we think maybe you are too valuable where you currently are"...lol

so today, i was reading some signs my manager had had made.

they read:NO AUTHORISED ENTRY.

i pointed out someone must be coasting in the proofreading department, that they had no excuse whist i, a dyslexic noticed the error
and i walked out.

Raggsy, i'm really listening to Lilly and all of the Undies on this...its nice to have put it out there, now I'll just get along with it. Have dissected the daily assignments into achievable bits..and I'll work on the confidence thing, thanks to all of you.

I've just swigged a mouthful of Caltex GTX. Doesn't taste tooo bad. How long do i swig it around me mouth for? Me teeth have gawn green. Am i doin it right?

That is almost worth taking to the anti discriminatin board but I guess your employer could find a way to "discipline" you. It stinks. They've done you out of 4 months pay rise.

Aspy, all managers, except for our Noicey and Sunny are bloody eeeedgits. Are you in a union there? If so they will support you to get your deserved payrise in full, as there is quite likely legislation in place via Fair work australia that penalises employers when they don't follow agreed process. These clowns who fook with honest hardworking people through there own laziness and 'passenger' attitudes really piss me orf. But i firmly believe that in the end, these buggers unravel themselves and justice prevails eventually, even though we may not see it. If we are honest and fair dinkum people, doors will always open, though of course, some slam in yer face too. hehe.

On that note, i must quickly relay......Got a response email from my manager stating that...''oh yes G, well, the xmas routine threw a few of us, haha, i don't recall our appt...did you perhaps not 'invite' me (via our internal email meetings calender)? Oh well, but yes, i'm happy to meet with you for our next session anytime you like' words to that effect. Well, i replied with a forwarded copy of her original confirmation of appointment email, also cc'ing her manager, a further senior person in the org, and my union rep, stating to her that i find the electronic evidence of our appointment confirmation date, made by you, difficult to dispute. There was no comeback. This was actually very dissappointing that my manager, a part of my team, has tried to weasel out of this missed appt, and cover her arse. I reckon i'm going to call a meeting of my leadership group, plus a senior 'independent' person in the org, and my union rep to discuss my frustrations and let rip in a constructive way with the purpose being me letting orf steam, but also hoping to begin some constructive, positive dialogue between senior execs and my managers. I want a win win outcome, i want to be heard, and i want my managers to be accountable and to reflect on how they, and me/employees can work together better.

I will consult with some independent professionals before i call such a pow wow. What do youse reckon?
