One Step at a Time - February 2013
Long, long day, but we are home.
Clay is snoring gently beside me, and I have to get to work. I will give you the details in a few.
Nora, thanks for checking on me throughout the day.:hI love my family more than alcohol.:h

Good morning steppers!
Thinking of Mama and Clay today and hoping all is well. When my friend had this procedure it was a long day and night. I was with her in the hospital and it was late before she got home. My thoughts are with them.
Nurdl! Good to see you here and I'm happy that you're doing so well. I'm almost afraid to get a Fitbit. I'm sure my status would be inactive about 99% of the time. Seems like all I do is sit at my job and drive an hour there and an hour back.
Nora, your poor aunt. I hope you hear some good news today.
Way to go FT! Still holding strong.
Hello FA, Sunbeam, Glass, Zen, and K9.
Off to work in a bit. Have a great day all.

Mama glad to hear all is good, Nora hope all goes well. Nurdl have a great time in the city, it is a wonderful place to go to . I used to live on the Island and would frequent the city when ever possible via LIRR.
Today kind a chilly here in central Florida but worth going for a ride on the bike and then some house cleaning and stuff..yea I do my house cleaning (not bad for a guy huh - LOL :-) )
Hope everyone has a great day.
FTAF with a few speed bumps during 2014 & 2015 but will succeed.
As of 4/12/2014 I have not smoked at all and feel great.

Good thoughts going out to Nora and family, Mama, Clay, K-9 & Sierra.:l
Read the One Percent thread, and felt very, very small.:upset: I find Paulywogg's (?) thread is very helpful--lots of good advice.
Major step for me yesterday: I told my siblings I would not take on anymore parental responsibilities. Long story I won't go into. I will continue to do what I'm doing, which is plenty, but they will have to step up to the plate (I have 3 siblings.) Why do I feel like a bad person for saying "enough"???? I have to mean it, act accordingly, and move on.

Juja, I am proud of you. That is a difficult message to deliver, but you needed to state your limits. My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

Quick check in before work.
Glad that Clay is ok. Great to see you Nurdl. Miss being about to talk to you all. Hugs to Juja, Sun, Fly, Fallen, FT, K9, Mama and everyone else. (Sorry, brain stopped working & can't remember names :H:H) Juja - ignore that 1% thread. Somebody in a bad mood I imagine.
Have a wonderful day all. :h:h

Have a lovely day all here!!

Juja, well done on putting your foot down. There is only so much one person can do. I think many women are taught from a young age to be people pleasers. To always say yes. Even when it comes with a price to ourself. You are not a bad person, you are teaching your siblings how to treat you. Good job.

ok...surgery took almost seven hours
the nerve they cauterized was "under" his heart on the left side at the bottom......
they went in on the right side at the top.....soooooooooooooooooo..it took a long time....
and they used a 24 inch needle to poke a small hole in the top of his heart to get there!!!
anyhoo..he is home resting....I think the worst part for him are the small holes in his legs where they inserted the catheters....they are right under his ...uhm.....you know.......on each side of that thing in the middle.....and they are VERY tender....he is walking a bit like a hamster!!
ok...back to work
xoxoxoxoxoxxoxo
extra hugs to Nora and k9.....
get well Niner, but not too soon...
oh..it's COLD here!!!!!!I love my family more than alcohol.:h

Wow. Glad Clay is ok and home resting. Sounds like an awful procedure. You probably need a rest too Mama. I'd be exhausted.
I just read the thread started by Mal and I want to say thank you to all who responded. Your strength showed in your posts and I'm glad to know you and be a part of this supportive group, rather than one that cuts people down. xoxo:notes:
we are human beings with alcohol problems not alcoholics with problems caused by drinking
