Went & talked to my psych today. I'm stopping one pill - just hard to afford it. I'll see how it goes and can always go back on it if necessary. I'm really, really thinking about drinking lately. I'm still taking the AB so it's not an option. But, I have not reached a point where I can say that I don't want to drink for the rest of my life. I have been trying to not think past today. But, my mind keeps going forward to a few months from now.....a year from now. On & on. Oh well, I guess this is just part of it. I am not drinking today. So there.
Hi everyone - yep Sunday morning here (a particularly nice sunny one too)

Nora I hope reducing your meds works OK for you. Try not to worry too much about the future - sorry to sound like a precocious young upstart, but one step at a time, remember? If I even thought about tomorrow and next week I'd go crazy. Seriously I could worry for Australia! But it won't be you that has to deal with things in a few months, it will be FutureNora, and she will have different thoughts and resources than you do.

Sunbeam, I've never been able to get the hang of knitting. I think I'm too uncoordinated to have both hands working at once. Unless one of them is lifting a wine glass - I can do that with anything!

Well yesterday I had some pretty vicious cravings, but despite having very little sleep I woke up today feeling very optimistic that I can do this. Thanks again for all your support.

              :thanks:

                Hi Dix...
Glass, you can do it...I had cravings that made me pace. But I have been on anti-snxiety meds for years, so that helped.
Not that I receommend benzo (xanax, ativan, etc.) they can turn into their own sort of beast.
                My doctor watches me closely.
In fact, last week when I went to have my blood checked, I had to do a drug test. I was livid at first, but I only tested positive for the meds I am on. They checked for cocaine, opiates, ecstasy and other things.
When I asked why, I was told they check for people that have prescriptions and don't test positive. That means they are selling their pills. Don't know if it's just in FLA, but it makes sense.
Off to dinner at III Forks. Never been there. It's a chain steak house and we hear it is nice. My boys both look so handsome. (we are spending a little of my bonus money) We shouldn't do it, but it will be a treat.
I love my family more than alcohol.:h

Nora, and whoever else is interested in decluttering...
I found a neat little book at the Library today, it 's called "Live More Want Less" by Mary Carlomagno.
Here's a link to a review on this book:

Recital is over and I'm on the train back from Stamford CT to NJ. She sang beautifully and the private home was enormous snd gorgeous. Working on the show music on the train. The show is Gypsy and I'm the music director. I run all the music rehearsals and play for all the dance rehearsals. I'll play all 6 performances along with an ensemble of about 14. It's great fun to be doing so much music. I love the train. It's so quiet. Almost to NYC. Hope you all had a good day!

                      Hi friends!
Well...went to vet and it doesn't look good. We can get the skin infection under control but she has chronic bronchitis, ear infection(fixable), possible arthritis, and swollen lymph nodes which could indicate cancer. We go back in2 weeks to check skin and lymph nodes. I am bracing myself...just gonna keep her happy and comfy.
We has a yard sale today and I actually made enough to pay ( today's) vet bill . Then I came home and did yard work...I am pooped. Not making dinner...everyone is on their own...lol.
                      Love y'all!
:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

K9 - I am so sorry. That is so sad. You are doing the right thing by loving her and keeping her comfy. :l

Nurdl - Glad that you had such a good time. Gypsy sounds wonderful too. Fanatastic!

Fall - thanks for the link. I'm going to check it out.

Glass - thanks for the pep talk.:h I like that one - FutureNora has to deal with it and she will have different thoughts.

Mama - glad that you spent some money and had a good time with the family. :l

Has anyone heard from Juja or Paula or Dottie?????

I'm so sorry to hear that K9. I hope the lymph nodes turn out to be something not too serious. Try not to worry until you know for sure. Is there anything they can do to relieve the symptoms of the bronchitis?

Mama Bear that drug testing sounds like a huge invasion of privacy, whatever their alleged reasons are!

oh K9......I am warm hugs to you, Sierra and Sandy
I used to love my musicals and I miss them. Have fun Nurdle
Dinner was fun, The place was gorgeous, but I literally gasped when the bill came. I told hubs we won't be going back. We spent as mush as I do on two weeks groceries. My prime rib was excellent, but the a la carte concept makes it really pricey.
Oh well...snuggled in being lazy. It's cold here.
we are going to Nana's and make her and Pop Bret's famous chicken wings and watch the Superbowl.

K9 I'm just hoping that the bronchitis and/or ear infection is the cause of the swollen lymph nodes. Mine get swollen all the time when my various ailments flare. Maybe she'll be feeling a whole lot better if the bronchitis and ear infection get treated. My vet gave me something like glucosamine/chondroitin to give to one of my cats who had arthritis. Did you get an antibiotic for Sandy?

It's so typical to have cravings at night but to feel wonderful waking up without a hangover. Remember that good feeling when the cravings are calling and just get through them. A craving is just a thought; the typical path in your brain telling you that this is the time you normally drink. Ignore the thought and focus on how good you felt waking up sober and hangover free. Five or six days into this and it won't feel quite as hard.
