Mama - I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. :l Please shoot me a text and let me know how he's doing.
K9 - feel better!
Hello & big hugs to everyone. I'm sorry but I haven't caught up with everyone today.
My Dad called me & my Aunt & Uncle (the ones from Oregon. She has been battling cancer) were in a car accident today. Totaled the car. Thank God that nobody was seriously injured. They hit a school bus!!! None of the kids were hurt. My Aunt hit her head and has some problems but is ok. Her BP & heart rate are up so they are keeping her overnight. My Uncle has a couple minor bumps/bruises. She couldn't get her leg up off the gas pedal to reach the brake. So, they ran a stop sign and then hit the bus. She must have finally hit the brake before impact. My Dad had offered over & over to drive her to her haircut but she is so stubborn. She insisted that she could drive. She had fallen again last night & my Uncle couldn't get her up. It took him an hour to finally get her up & to the couch. But, they didn't call for help last night either.
Then I talked to my brother and my Dad is not doing well with his breathing at all. He just can't breathe. So they are trying to get him in to see the pulmonary Doctor. He also mentioned that my Dad is beginning to show signs of forgetting things. Not bad but it's there.
So, thanks for letting me cry on your shoulders. I'm feeling so overwhelmed right now. Thank goodness that my brother is up there to take care of the 4 of them. I told him that I just don't know what we do if he wasn't up there.
I'll catch up with you all tomorrow. I think I'm going to chill with some stupid facebook games for a little bit."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

I'm not surprised you're feeling overwhelmed Nora - you have so much on your plate, you poor thing.
Try and make sure you look after yourself as well as worrying about everyone else. You can't be strong for them unless you take care of yourself first. :h:hThere's two ways of looking at the holes in your shoes

Oh Nora, I am so sorry that more has been added to your plate. Are they taking away your aunt's license? I hope so. She is not safe for herself or anyone. My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

Oh Nora, I'm so sorry for all of the stress in your life right now. How old is your father?
Sorry to hear that you're still sick K9. Is your daughter sick too? Enjoy your time off.
Thinking of you and Clay today Mama.
Happy Thursday to Sunbeam and Glass! Hello to Zen and FT and Juja if you three are lurking.
We got a bit of snow overnight, but only a couple inches. It looks like my driveway has already melted. Shouldn't be a big deal driving into work. I'm supposed to have houseguests this weekend, but not 100% sure. I need to clean my house, that much is for sure! Just don't know when. I get home from work pretty late all week. Oh well, guests will just have to deal with it if they don't like my home!

Good morning all,
Mama and Nora my thoughts are with you and hope all turns out well.
I am still here hanging on, all is well and still taking one step at a time. Taking care of my health is my 1st priority so this morning back out for a ride on my bicycle as this also allows me to just clear my mind while I am riding and looking around.
Hope everyone has a good day.
FTAF with a few speed bumps during 2014 & 2015 but will succeed.
As of 4/12/2014 I have not smoked at all and feel great.

Ooh, I got an email that my Fitbit One has shipped. I thought I deserved a new toy and if it helps me get moving more well good on me. Does anyone here have one?
How are you liking your fitbit??
I haven't worn mine in several weeks. Yesterday I put it on for the day & then decided to wash my jeans last night. Yep.... forgot all about having the fitbit tethered to my belt :upset:
The last time I had a fitbit go through the washer, I took the advice of Fitbit & put it in a jar of uncooked rice for a week. Didn't work. This time I tried the advice of some of the members & put it in the dryer with the rest of the clothes. I figured there was nothing to lose now that it wasn't working. And you know what??? IT WORKED!! ... and it's still working!
Hope you never need to use this advice.AF 6 years

Happy Valentine's Day!
Thanks for all the support & well wishes. My Aunt is still in the hosptital. I didn't realize that she's in ICU. They have been running tests today. She has lost blood again and they're trying to determine what is causing this. They gave her a transfusion. I don't know all the details yet. My cousin will be there tomorrow so I'll know more then.
Has anyone heard from Mama Bear? The last text that I got from her was that Clay was still in surgery. That was at noon today.
Take care everyone. :h"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Good Morning! Sorry I've been missing but all is well. It's wonderful to be so busy. Too busy to be drinking. Husband and I are taking the train into NYC tonight for dinner and a show. We're staying over in a hotel in Times Square. This is all to celebrate my sil's birthday. There will be drinking but I'm so happy that I don't anymore this should be easy.
Fallen, I'm enjoying my Fitbit. It's so interesting to see what my activity levels are. The days I thought I was so active because I was driving, doing errands or playing the piano for rehearsals is more sitting on my bottom than really moving. I'm going to wear it tonight in the city because we will be walking during the day so I should get my 10,000 steps in easily. Thanks for sharing about washing the Fitbit. I'll be careful. I set mine up to call me Gorgeous when I get messages . I hope everyone is doing well. I've got some back reading to do to catch up. I've missed you! Just needed a wee break I guess.:notes:
we are human beings with alcohol problems not alcoholics with problems caused by drinking
