FT, Flyaway and Sunbeam? I?m so sorry you?re grieving for a parent. I?m very grateful that I haven?t lost either of mine yet but it must be unbearably painful. I wish I could offer more than a hug but this is all I have. :l :l :l
Kradle? I?m also very sorry to hear that you?ve lost your father. Even if you don?t miss him I imagine you must still grieve for the father you wish he was. And you too, Juja. So here are hugs for you two, too! :l :lThere's two ways of looking at the holes in your shoes

I was a product of the foster care system in Atlanta until I was 12. Then I was fostered and eventually adopted by my parents. It was a tough transistion for all of us, I was a wild child that had never had consitant discipline, and had been seperated from my half sister. My Mom was the tough, unbending disciplinarian. Mu dad was was and still is, one of the most gentle people I know. I love and appreciate them both.
I cannot spend more than about 5 minutes in the same room with my Mom. She is very critcal and cold... but I could laugh and hang out all day with Dad. Interesting dynamic there.....
coffee, pleaseI love my family more than alcohol.:h

Mama>You should write your biography. You've had a tough (?) life, and look at you now!
Glass> Thank you for the kind words. I finished my grieving for the parents I never had quite awhile back. It is what it is, and there's no changing it. I had to move on, but I still try to be a good caretaker/human being.
Hi, all the rest of ya'll.
I finally got some sleep yesterday and last night. I feel so much better.
Raining and sleeting this a.m. Maybe, just maybe, the library will be less busy today. :H

I'm off to church again tonight, for our monthly Board meeting. Presbyterians do everything decently and in order. I didn't make that up, it is a phrase we commonly use.
Oh, she's also a librarian--she does things in order, too.:H"Remember, you are responsible for creating your life by every thought, action, choice. Choose well." Oprah Winfrey

Hi All and happy Friday!
Wow Mama, your life story is very interesting. Look how well you turned out despite the rough start! You're a lovely person and I am happy to know you :l
Juja - I laughed at your description of your friend, a Presbyterian AND a librarian...wow, she must run a tight ship! LOL I need to tighten mine up a bit!
I have had the WORST headache for about 5 days now...I seriously feel like my neck is breaking. I cannot get comfortable at night, I've tried every pillow combination I can think of. I lay there with sharp pains shooting from my neck all the way down to my tailbone. I cannot believe I am on the downard slide after hitting 40. LOL I am at the point where I may go get pain medication from the doctor, non-narcotic of course. And a few visits to the chiropractor would probably help too. The sad part is, who has time for all these visits and running around? I have been to the gym all week and the rest of my body feels pretty good, it's just my darn head feels like it's gonna fall off....and I kinda need it.
Hope you're all well today!:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:
Believe in yourself. You are stronger than you think.

Niner, maybe you tweaked it at the gym?? Please promise you will get your noggin looked at. I have a daily headache, but I know (or I think I know) it's stress.
Yep - I always joke that my life could be movie of the week!!!
I was raised Methodist and I miss it. I need to get back to church.
for now...I need to get back to work!I love my family more than alcohol.:h

My Dad had a heart attack. Doesn't look good. Please send prayers. I'm in the airport waiting for my flight. :upset:"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Hello All,
Today is my 8th day of sobriety!!! I am feeling super good now. I gave up sugar too, as for me, the two cravings go hand-in-hand.
So far, so good. God I don't want to drink anymore. I so do not want to fail at this AGAIN.
I'm glad to know this space is here, although I haven't yet made any connections.
Hoping to get to know some of you soon.
Cheers!

I missed my connecting flight. I'm in San Francisco now. Can't get a flight out until 8:00 am. My Dad seems stable. He's had more than one heart attack. I'm sitting on the floor next to an outlet charging my phone & then I'll find a quiet corner to try to sleep for an hour or so. Thank you for the prayers. It means so much to me. :h:h"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

I'm very glad to hear your Dad's condition is stable Nora. I'm sure he's getting the best of care and he's in a safe place and being well looked after.
I'll keep those prayers coming for you. :hThere's two ways of looking at the holes in your shoes
