Absolutely Zenny (happy to be a dame, I do work in theatreland after all :H)...

Not just the US though... it is i believe everywhere in the Western World - certainly here in the UK. I'm still trying to work out where I stand with it all - the advertising is fucking selling us lies, but how we all seem to just accept it - why is that? What does that say about us that we like drugs to get away from it all / to celebrate / to chill to whatever. And when I say drugs, I include the likes of my very moderate parents who sip a glass of wine twice a week.

Was in an awful funny oul funk since yesterday, not thinking of drinkin but just realising how there's 'issues' that i may have used drink to escape from or nae deal with.

Trying to work out how to address said issues!! Wish me feckin luck:H

Was my Mum's anniversary today to top the oul funk off.

Feelin much better just being here tho but tummy is dodgy and nae eatin it takes alot to put me off grub!:H

Reckon it's all subliminal. It also sells us who we think we would like to be. Or who/what we associate with. E.g If I see an ad' for, i dunno..., pizza, or a hair product, or choccie bar or a house cleaning product and they use a VW Camper Van from 1963 to associate that with the product - then I am more likely to buy the product because I like the VW Camper Van (or what the Van says about the type of person I'd like to see myself as), whether I need or want the product of not.

They sell a way of life, not just the product. Car ad's and AL ad's are great examples of this.

Does anyone have a VW Camper from the 60's btw?!?!
