Good morning, Army

I was woken at 6.00 by a phone call from work :upset: We're doing an upgrade on our HR systems, and it's not going according to plan. FFS, Mrs. T and I only got home at 1.30 after the 21st last night. I'm getting too old for this :H

Anyhoo - now settled on the verandah with a coffee and several ciggies after making some calls and activating contingency plans.

Just having my fully loaded cupajo, up earlier... but thinking I'd go into work earlier today and try and get a few things done and dusted before I'm off next week

Morning tips

It's a bugger getting called by work at the weekend, especially at that hour. Hope you won't have to go in.

It's cold, dark and wet outside, so there'll be no settling down on the verandah in this part of the world, not that I have a verandah.

Busy making up a shopping list, then heading off to Sainsbury's in a little while.

I went out last night too, got in at 11, and will be paying for it next wee. I am useless without me nine hours kipper :H

Looking forward to meeting up with Chill today and catching up with all her news.

Also had some very happy news this week, the endowment policy that we took out 25 years ago matures next month and there will be enough to pay off the mortgage. Cannot quite believe we will be mortgage free soon! VERY grateful for that

I was talking to RC as it happens starty, cos he said he was going in to work today. It's great that you will soon be mortgage free. I can still remember that lovely feeling of security that you get from knowing that nobody can ever take your house away from you when I paid off mine

Good news on the sleeping and feeling better Molls, nothing worse than feeling shite for ages.

Yes, Chill lives about an hour and a half from me now, which is lovely.

I can remember when I used to lose sleep over paying for the mortgage and losing the house if we couldnt meet the repayments. Its going to be liberating to be free of that

Gawd, that horsemeat thing has been an absolute PR disaster for Findus hasn't it? I wonder if they'll ever recover from it. Actually, I wonder if any of the army has eaten any of their horsemeat products. I'm pleased to say I haven't.
