Have to disappear off to the supermarket now. Laters.

Gawd, that horsemeat thing has been an absolute PR disaster for Findus hasn't it? I wonder if they'll ever recover from it. Actually, I wonder if any of the army has eaten any of their horsemeat products. I'm pleased to say I haven't.

Rant alert

They went for the cheapest option which happened to be from Poland. Didn't give a shit what is was - it turned out to be horsemeat.
Nothing wrong with it but it is so much cheaper than beef............. BUT the big boys got it so cheap - no questions were asked. Now they are all 'holier then thou' and blaming the source.
Grrrrrrrrrrrr !

Pity Party Alert
Had a little 'twinge' last night.
Cinema - love a trip there.
But for years it was totally for losers - ol folks & ye know those with nowt else to do of a Frida ?
Me & MR S went had our 'tea' first. We looked & acted like an old couple.
Now when you feel 30 in your head this is not good.
We went to a Gourmet Burger place in Liffey Valley - and yes had a pot of tea - I thought - oh Jesus we are Darby & Joan - God we used to go have few drinks & have the craic like 'young people'
Felt VERY old I can tell you.
Kinda depressed me a bit !

AND Mr S is going deaf & I have to repeat everything & he shouts - oh Jesus shoot me now:H
We are that stereotype !!!
I think I'm a young wan ( if I don't look in a mirror)
Then across the table is this old man - to bring the reality home !
Sorry I'm being a COW again ! :sorry:

Back from the supermarket - it's been snowing for the past couple of hours.
On the subject of hearing impairment...there are hearing aids available now that are so small you could never tell they were being worn. They do cost a lot though and they're not suitable for people with a big hearing loss. They're fine for "normal" age-related deafness though.

mollyka;1459556 wrote: oh yeah --- I REALLY know what you're talking about there. I do feel like sobriety is defining me more as an 'old lady' type --- and I'm so not, like you say - we were always the fun couple, always up for a bit of craic -- it sits uncomfortably with me as well when I look at us from the 'outside' -- the reality of my drinking at the end wasn't like that tho, so I have to think of that when the Darby & Joan image makes me feel uneasy
I do love the bed & house Molls too - don't mind me preaching about getting out - pot & kettle stuff that !
I think I need to think about this one though . Perhaps go out more - to the pub even - but ONLY when there is a quiz or summit on !
Yep that's my mission to find some outlets that don't involve drink.
My friend in work is ALWAYS 'lepping' around. She had cancer & now does not sit still for 2 mins during the day and always 'at' something at night.
She loved her drink too - but now it makes her a bit ill - so she will take it or leave it. Life & soul of the party she is...
Tennis, gym, Cheile dancing ( in pubs) , quizzes ................... the husband can go or not she doesn't care. Most times he will join in.

Morning all
Happy sober Saturday morning
I can relate to that feeling me satzerooney and our molls, in that drinking has defined me as "fun" to be around for such a long time - I'm scared of what I'm going to be like without it !!
Anyway, didn't sleep very well last night - felt like me skin was crawling off with itchiness - it's a bit better now but at 2am it wasn't funny !!
And I had the thoughts "day 3" - how are yer gonna do it questy ? Well, quite simple acshully - I will not drink no matter what - and - I can not drink no matter what - cos I know I can't carry on going round and round like this any moresimples
Trying again from 22nd September 2014Keeping it simple. Keeping it real.
