That's good mario. Couldn't they post it to you? Not that I imagine you're too upset about another trip to Portugal.

Yeah, my liver wasn't good at the end Reccie. But then for all of 2 years I was drinking a bottle of vodka most days -- the odd day no, but it was even getting to the stage that I would buy a litre bottle in case I didn't have enough in the 75cl -- so it was extremely damaging, particularly as I am a woman.
It took all of 3 months to heal -- and has been perfect ever since - so yeah it's A1 since March 2010 - he never SAYS he's gonna test it when he's testing my cholesterol, but he's still always able to tell me the liver is perfect
Crickey - that's a lot of vodka - do you know, I'm glad yer said that - you've filled me with hope :h thanks molls
Trying again from 22nd September 2014 Keeping it simple. Keeping it real.

The fact of the matter is that it's equally frustrating for both parties when you're trying to communicate with someone who is deaf. On that subject, I don't really expect to be able to understand anything in April, especially as I imagine most of you will have national or regional accents which I really struggle with. I'm really just coming along to sit in the same room as the rest of you and put faces and voices to the names, although I already have a good idea what most of you look like from FB.
              Two things Recciie :
              1) Facebook profile is wayyyyyyyyy out of date :H
              2) I'm delighted you are coming in April. From your name & reading your posts - you like the quiet life ?
I for one may appear all bustle & confident on here but I am quite shy. So put me in a room of mad yokes it'll take me time to 'adjust' - so you won't be alone in the quiet corner :l

Your liver is the only organ that repairs itself fully - once the AL is taken away so you will be grand.
Your point about the liver repairing itself fully is correct satz, but only if the liver is not too damaged already. In late stage liver disease, the liver loses the ability to repair itself. Mrs a might be able to confirm that when she appears.

Mine is high permanently - it sits around 6 -- went up to 7.6 once when I was drinking but!!!! The doc says its genetic and that I really won't be able to bring it down any lower without medication, but he says he's relatively happy with me if I stay at the 6 and as statins are tough on the liver it's best left alone and just monitored.
The doc who rang me yesterday was mad to get me on meds - she was very excitable about it - I really really don't want to take them, and I do trust my doc. but she just made me think. My doc reckons that the pharmaceutical companies keep getting the safety levels downwards to sell their drugs --
Yep Molls - mine was hovering at 6.5 for years - Doc not bothered at all.
Went last June for fancy MOT & it was 4.8
Don't really believe that - but got free test in work last week - so we'll see.
