Why i feel need to please others above meself, why im never as good as others, why i have to punish meself by pouring poison down me throat, why cant i just be content with who, what and where i am? Blah, blah.........

Glad to have a fellow learner, this will be fun
Ummm... you been sitting in on my IOP classes? That's me... I'm a people pleaser. And I have limited boundaries. Who would have known? I always thought I was a bitch!!! But it turns out that I bend over backwards to make other people happy. I kid you not... this has been a revelation. And it's tough to relearn old thinking patterns. Ach well... keeps me entertained...

Why do you think that the relapse rate is high after rehab?? My friend went to the Priory, spent 18k, stayed sober for 6 weeks, had a couple of weeks of 'moderate drinking'... now is back to ringing me in the middle of the night sobbing, drunk and lost??

18k is a lot of dosh!!

Now I'm on the lappers in the bed. When I go to sleep, it will be a marathon!

Patrice... the relapse rate is very high. It's just a fact. And I'm really not sure why but one thing I will say is that it's different for "first timers". It's a new experience. I reckon if you go back in on Take Two or Three it shifts gears and becomes less helpful and more of a "shite, I knew I was hopeless" kind of scenario.

I've seen your posts... ages ago. I think you live in an exotic part of the world and once I remember where I'll shout it out! ;o) (If I'm not asleep...)

            Morning army

Had to jump in on this point Molly, cos was chatting to sweatpants about changing and how getting sober allows us to play with the 'new' us.

I started exercising in January and , who would've tort? I absolutely love it.

When I drank it was something I should do and hated cos I felt so sick and tired. Now I adore it !........still look like Jabba the Hutt mind! :H:H:H

Yeah I rejected the exercise thing at the beginning cos my body was screaming at me to rest.
I often see peeps 3 or so into their quits running round at the gym, then getting exhausted and......... We know where that leads.
I was four months sober before I lifted my lard arse off the sofa :H

Well I survived the class, altho it was touch and go at some points off for a shower now and then one of me volunteer trips, taking an old biddy to visit her husband in hospital.

So glad you got another week off Molly, have you thought of taking a tonic? I use something called Biostrath if I'm feeling out of sorts, it's a herbal concoction and I fancy it helps. Just a thought.

Ok I go to do good works, back later wiv me halo positively glistening.

Catch you all later, I love the idea of this thing being an adventure Zens, i'd like to come along for the trip!

                            Be safe peeps :l
