One Step at a Time - March 2013

I?m sorry to hear everyone has had so much on their minds today. I hope you?re all hanging in there.

Mama Bear, it?s very sad that your client has had to be evicted and has nowhere to go but I?m also glad you?re not in any danger. Excuse my ignorance, but why are you worried about your 21 year old going out? Is that traditionally a bit of a wild celebration in your part of the world?

K9 I sympathise with you having a child learning to drive. I hated it when my kids were learning, but you must be so proud to be such a fantastic role model now and know that you?re showing her the importance of not drinking and driving.

Nora I?m sure things will be rough for your Mom for a while yet, but she?s very lucky to have such a loving family to support her. Keep looking after yourself as well!

Juja feel free to have a whinge. Feeling bloated and yukky is horrible and very un-motivating.

It?s nearly bedtime here. I bought one of those big bumpy foamy underlay things for my bed last week and it?s so comfy I can?t wait to go and snuggle into it. Sadly it?s the only snuggling I get in bed these days so it?ll have to do! :H

Glass 21-years-old is when you can legally drink alcohol in the States. I hope you get a good night's sleep.

Juja do you notice the Campral helping? Are food cravings a common side effect of the drug or could it just be your body reacting to no booze? When I quit I had wicked cravings.

I'm feeling better today and will be off to work in a bit. Just checking in while sipping my coffee. It looks like a nice, clear day here.

Great day yesterday, took my son to see the Orlando Magic play the LA Lakers and it was a real nice father and son outing. During the game we talked, cheered, (booed when Howard came in touch with the ball) as did most of the people attending, we did treat ourselves to ice cream during the game and I passed on the customary beer and it felt great.

AF with a few speed bumps during 2014 & 2015 but will succeed.
As of 4/12/2014 I have not smoked at all and feel great.

          Hi Everyone!

Nora - Sorry about your mom, I know it's got to be hard. My parents have been married for 50 years and I can't imagine one without the other.... she's lucky to have such a good daughter like you! Take time for yourself too ok? We love you lots! :h

Mama - Did BabyBear make it home okay? I think every age is scary! Driving is our next hurdle. I'm thankful that my daughter is fairly responsible, BUT she is a teenager and they all have their "moments"!! I'm glad we moved to a small town. No freeways to navigate. Another benefit of living in the "sticks". LOL

Juja - Feel free to bitch and complain, we don't mind! I hope you got a good night's sleep. Byrdie always says we'll never have 2 bad days in a row...and I have found that to be true!!

FT - Sounds like you had a blast with your son last night! It's so nice to have sober outings. I was always too cheap to buy alcohol at any event anyway! LOL

Glass, Sun, Fly and everyone else...have a great Wednesday!

          Love y'all!!!
:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

Believe in yourself. You are stronger than you think.

One Step at a Time - March 2013

            Hi friends,
I've just been flying by since getting home from vacation. Did a gardening presention Monday evening after working all day. Yesterday I had a meeting after work, then a rehearsal in the evening. I got caught up on a few things at home this morning, garden club this afternoon, choir rehearsal tonight. Sometimes my life seems too busy, but then I remind myself that I am choosing every one of these activities.

Mama, I hope they are keeping you safe at work.

            Juja, how goes it today?
My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

Melvin is in the back of a police car as we speak.......he is being taken to the mental hospital and it is being made very clear by the officer that this is no longer his address.
I have got to toughen up. This job will be the death of me if I don't. I kept telling myself it's "just a job" and hubs and I had a long talk last night. I am going to be more guarded and just do my job. It kind of sucks and will be hard for me, but I am doing it for my own self preservation.
I am paying someone to come clean out the unit....it is gross...he was a hoarder
Baby Bear made it home, but was very grumpy this morning. That, however, is nothing new.
Yes..you can legally drink at 21 in the states.
Niner..I thought Sierra was older.......eeeeeekkkkkkk.......both of my boys have survived driving. I am sure she will be fine. Now you get to watch your insurancec go through the roof.
Juja- fuss away, sister. This is your safe place.
Nora- I don't know what to say. I am sorry sweetie. I am glad you have been able to spend so much time with her. I would not have been able to leave work for that long. She lloks like a sweetie on FB!
Hiya Sun, FT and Glass. Good job on passng up the beer FT. I have no idea who Howard is, but BOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
              ok..back to work
              love y'all

Mama, your job sounds tough! I know it's hard to distance yourself, but you have to...for YOU. I'm sending you this :l and this :loveyou:...cuz I do!

Sierra is 15 1/2...sometimes she seems older, sometimes younger. She's at that awkward stage where it's hard to know whether she's still a kid, or a semi-adult. We shall get through this! (I hope) As far as insurance goes, that is where her father will come in! He's actually very dependable about that sort of thing, so I am very lucky!

Today has been very busy with my boss not here...but I like it! The day is flying by!

Mama I guess you don't follow basketball, have we not heard enough about Dwight Howard and the circus with him and the Orlando Magic last year...
Sorry to hear you had to deal with a horder, those show really make me appreciate how clean my home is.
                  Take care.

Hopefully I get this right, little rusty.
Mama- it is a major problem in the good old USA, we don't have facilities and assistance for the mentally ill/homeless. I know where I live we have some "resuce mission" type facilities, and a winter shelter, but so often they have no beds open, and no money to operate on.
                      Take care.

nothing is better than sober, but it's really, really hard to get there....we all know
eating chicken wings and steamed veggies
don't mean to offend, but I don't get all the hullabaloo about a new pope....guess you can tell I am not Catholic
but he sounds like a good man who can make some needed changes

How are you Glass? Want to talk about it? We've ALL been there (me, MANY times). Stick close to us (within kickin' distance anyway!)

                            Welcome BHOG!

Mama - I agree about the Pope, but I don't understand a lot of things. LOL

Everyone have a great night. I am heading to the gym, tonight is my "serious" workout night. I wanna just get 'er done and go to bed.
