One Step at a Time - March 2013
Mama I'm not surprised you're a bit grouchy. Sounds like you had the bug from hell and you haven't had any time to properly rest and recuperate.
Nora I'm so glad to see you're starting to get on top of things again.
K9 you probably get sick of people telling you this but you're such an inspiration! Well done on anticipating a tough time and heading it off at the pass.
I hope you all have a great week. :h:hThere's two ways of looking at the holes in your shoes

LOL Mama! I have begun counting on your nightly dinner menu...it keeps things exciting. lol
Hi Glass - Thanks for the compliment. I just KNOW where I don't EVER want to go again. Sometimes I feel like I could drink one night and get right back on the wagon...but...who knows what could happen during that ONE night of drunken stupidness? It could (heaven forbid) be something life-changing. It's not worth the risk. Being hungover is the worst feeling in the world, so why would I ever CHOOSE that? Those are all the things I tell myself when I think one night "wouldn't hurt"...cuz yeah, it would hurt, pretty bad!:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

Not just inspirational K9, but very wise too! Even if you only had a couple of drinks and nothing went wrong, you?d just be sitting there feeling absolutely disgusted with yourself for giving in after all this time and you couldn?t possibly enjoy it after the first few sips anyway.
I do feel very sad for your friend at the local store though, what with being denied a glimpse of your newly pert buttock and all. :H:H
Mama please tell me that your "homemade" spaghetti only means the sauce is homemade. If you actually made the pasta yourself I'll probably just go and crawl under the table for a year or so until I feel worthy again. There's two ways of looking at the holes in your shoes

My husband hasn't been feeling well for a couple of months due to the endless cough that has accompanied his cold. He usually likes to cook. Today he will make luscious lemon curd, to serve with a blueberry pound cake from scratch I will bake tomorrow. His brother and nephew will be here Friday, and my sister will join us Sunday for this unbeatable dessert. My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

Phew - thank goodness for that! :H
We have so many cooking reality shows going on over here now that every woman and her dog are making their own pasta. And if you use frozen pastry you might as well go straight to hell, do not pass go. Nobody has a plain chocolate dessert anymore, it's either a fondant, a ganache or a triple whipped cocoa macaron tower(ok - I made that one up, but only just). There's two ways of looking at the holes in your shoes

Glass...you made me LOL several times...from my newly "perky" buttocks (not so much really) to Mama making her own pasta. I agree...what is this world coming to when plain old brownies aren't good enough for dessert anymore? (And yes, I mean the kind from the box! LOL)
I buy frozen breaded chicken, open a can of ragu sauce, top it with pre-shredded mozarella cheese and call it "homemade" chicken parmesan! LOL
Nora - did you TTFP today? I did...I took TWO...I am gonna be alone this weekend and I want the AB coursing through my veins!
Mama - What's for dinner tonight? lol:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

sorry Glass...but tonight is homemade veal pie.....
left over from Hubs birthday
BUT I DIDN'T MAKE IT......grandma did!!!
and my buttocks are so opposite of perky:upset:
Nora.......?????????:h:h
Sun- I am sorry about your hubs....I know how he feels...I am better but my ears are cloggged and I have a cough
K9----I am getting anxious for you......in a good way, I think......if I had a whole weekend to myself not sure what I would do. Glad you TTFP.....
Hubs' Mom taught me how to cook.....I really enjoy it, but I definately take shortcuts...it's fun for hubs and I to do together.....and the boys help if they are around..which is less and less it seems:upset:I love my family more than alcohol.:h

my pasta comes out of a box...
so do my brownies...
but I make the sauce for my chicken parm....and I don't bread the chicken. I cut up a chicken, brown the pieces in olive oil and garlic, and simmer them in the sauce....YUMI love my family more than alcohol.:h

Stop putting me to shame Mama! LOL
I plan to sleep in, spend LOTS of time at the gym, read my books and catch up on my 60 episodes of The Big Bang Theory this weekend! There's no time for boozin! At this point, the calories would not even be worth it.
Nora - How ya doing today? :h:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:
