Well I officially started the new job. And I am already dazzling them with my brilliance!!! LOL
Only two days in and have received complements from the "big" bosses. Yesterday I convinced the vendor to deliver my equipment a week sooner than he had told the project manager it could be done. And today I found several mathematical "bust" (errors) in the plans they had not found.So I am off and running!!!!!!!!!!!

Well the job is awesome!!!!!!!!!
And get this I'm now in management!!!!!!!!!!
Me of all people! I have always been a "worker bee" high school educated but 30 years in construction. It is all I have ever done.
I thought I was applying for a Party Chief position. That is the official title for me as the Headman in a Survey crew or Survey Party if you will. (also the origins of my name on here ProPartyChief)
But come to find out my official title is Quality Control Manager. I still am having a hard time wrapping my head around that.
I still get to use my Survey skills but my duties go WAY beyond that.
They are working the shit out of me but I need that after 3 1/2 years off work I have a lot of hours to make up!!!! LOL
I have never had a salary position before so miss the overtime. But that is OK there is a LOT of room to advance and go places within this firm.
So long story short I'm feeling happy and feeling good for the first time in years!!!!

p.s. I am also going to fly out to California and see my girls for the first time in over 2 years. At the end of next month. My youngest is graduating 8th grade. I'm not telling them I'm coming out. My ex-wife thinks that is an awesome idea. So again HAPPY HAPPY!!!!
