Funny thing is, I just got new shoes and my body was so used to the old ones, that for the first few outings they felt worse. Better now.

Closing in on 4 months, G. Way to go.

Congrat's on the 5k runs STL. Thanks for the runners world link. Good mag i've been reading for years. My running shoes are a good pair (Brooks) and well cushioned etc, just falling apart! lol. RW also often have excellent getting started training tips, nutrition etc.

Yep SL, metric is better for me too! lol. Lucky i've got beach sand to run on barefoot, but new shoes on the horizon.

Sure glad i got outside today. There were some of them miracles waitin too, i tells yis.

An absolute pearler of a day. Blue skys, around 25c, gentle breeze, and not many at the beach which is how i like it! A long easy run in the gentle late spring sun followed by a refreshing swim in the sea. Now that's gotta be good for yer mental and physical health, and feels it. P.S. Barefoot run on sand, so got around dodgy shoe issue! Just scoffed 4 vegemite and lettuce/spinach rolls, and onto the blueberry muffins soon. Follow me on tumbler, twirler and twitter for regular updates.

Take it easy y'all. It is very very good and so cool to be sober! Worth that little bit of effort of investing in ourselves. Yo!

Lol. It sure was one of those perfect days Pauly. I love running in the sand. Takes some getting used to at first, but it's good for the legs. It's firmer near the waters edge. The Men at work singer still tours . He's big in Sth. America. How are things with you?

Day 116 but who's counting. Warm weekend ahead and i'm working too.

Have a safe, sober and magical weekend everyone.

Another first - ran in the rain!! Cold here, but have to keep any gains that I made up, so kicked myself out of my warm cosy bed and managed 3miles (half walking) - looked like a drowned rat after, but so chuffed with myself!
Saw some amazing photos of Aus the other day - need to plan a trip to Oceania, has to be on my bucket list!
                Have a good weekend G

Good stuff SL. Running in the rain is one of my fave things because there is often no-one about so it's very peaceful. But sounds like you need to get a waterproof jacket with a hood! Don't worry about your running shoes/pants, they'll dry out. You might need 2 pairs? You have some amazing country in the U.S. too. I've been to NYC and Hawaii only, so must make the trek again sometime soon. Def with a band of some sort. Oz is beautiful too. The cities are ok, just cities being cities really (of course cities have diff flavours to them), but it is out in the bush, the countryside, the desert, mountains and coast where the magic is.

                  Day 117 but who's counting.

Working today. The old car wouldn't start yesterday. It was just some corrosion built up around a battery terminal that came off easily after pouring some water over it and a bit of a clean. Let's hope that's all it is and she fires up this morning. Getting 2 buses and a train to where i'm working today on a sunday would be a P.I.T.Ass!

Take care and have a bewdy out there.

Top of the monday morning friends, near and not so far.

                    Day 118 but who's counting.

A great restorative style sleep had after a working weekend. Noice. Grey skys out there at present, but skys is blue in me heart.

Plenty of little projects to keep me busy this week.

                    Take it easy out there.

                            Cheers folks! Thanks.

SL, I jammed with the drummer, Mick Fleetwood in the 80's when he came out with his own band. He was 110 then! :applouse:

Glad to hear Micks drum solo was a ripper. Def an inspiration.

He was a little under the weather when i met him in a bar where i was playing, which is understandable given it was about 1/2 in the morning and he was on tour. His tour manager, a mutual friend, brought him along for an after gig jam. He didn't say much, but he played nice and it was a delight to meet him.
