A nice easy run, and dip in the bay. The water's getting cold, but enlivening.

It's Monday...I'm so excited to be at work!!!! (I figure if I say it I may start to believe it) :H

Nursie - I just LOVE you too :h We don't need to fight over Mr. G...we can share...I know he'd LOVE that! LOL I hope your week goes okay, I know it's such a difficult time for you. I wish I was there to give you a big huge hug :l Your brother was loved, and lucky to have you as a sister :h

Great going on 3 days off the fags Niner! Don't forget, not only will you be feeling better physically, you will be looking even better, even hotter than your usual self. Is that possible I ask?!! Our date has no expiry or use by date attached my friend, the invitation is open for the rest of time!.....There will always be some form of Tip, or Dump we can go to. :h

Thinking of you Nursie at this difficult time. :l

Still going OK. Moderate thoughts of having "just one". I have some things coming up that are giving me motivation. I have a face to face meeting with my new manager and 2 colleagues that I want to be sober for. Work is busy and stressful, but exciting and I need all my wits about me at all times. I really want to shine.

Sleep has been hit or miss lately. I had trouble falling asleep last night and then woke up around 2 AM and laid there for a while. I started thinking how tired I was going to be today and just thought - at least I won't be tired AND hungover. I didn't think to go get a drink to send me back to sleep like I used to do.

I started thinking about that and how thoughts of drinking sneak up on us and just try to chip away at our resolve in the smallest fleeting thoughts. Eventually we feel like we're depriving ourselves or forgetting how much pain we were actually in and let alcohol back into our lives. It seems silly to me to be proud of the fact that I didn't get a drink last night but I choose to be proud of it anyway. I think it's important to be proud of small wins because that's how we eventually defeat the niggly voice telling us it's OK to drink. I'm going to actively seek them out from now on to stay motivated.

Not silly at all. What is silly is going back to drinking because of a little thought or feeling that we have the ability to choose to change or let flow past us. 'This too shall pass' style, and it always does. We grow when we defeat an urge don't we?

Agree with you Siren -- celebrate the "little" victories. Each day I don't succumb to the voice saying "just one" I consider a major accomplishment.

The feelings good this morning in my humble bachelor pad by the bay. It is a wintry morning, and a little cold outside, but it is springtime in my heart, and I am warm. New beginnings are afoot, and they abound, abound I tells ya.

Push through. Just push through the fog. There is light and blue sky's just up ahead if you stick with it. It might be months away, or tomorrow, but the breakthrough will come. For me at the moment, my only way out is THROUGH.

I think any success in life is not based on any BIG event but small victories along the way that prepare us to be on top of our game when a potentially big opportunity comes our way.

Another small victory with the car refusing to start in tonight's pouring rain. Did I swear and curse? Yep, a little, but ultimately it was yer Zen master 101 at the helm, as I waited patiently for an hour and a half for the electrics to dry out and then start to get me home. Pissed off on another level though. Now I've got to muck around finding the weak link so it doesn't happen again! ha.
