Well folks, i'm just back from the assessment. I'm now officially on record as a drunk. hehe. And that's okay with me.

It went smoothly and ok i suppose. The assessor would've spoken to a team meeting by now about me, and said he'd ring me back later today or next week with an answer as to whether they reckon i'm a goer for their 6 week program which begins May 12. So we'll see.

Top of the morning y'all from the beach pad. Top gig last night with my band. No recent rehearsals, and spontaneous performance with no safety net. Just how i like it. It's great to play. Yeaah.....

Bought some booze last night to drink after the gig, and next few days, but i didn't go there and don't intend to.

Edit: Why? Well, you know, my alkie brain saying c'mon mate, how about a last hurrah before you get sober?...etc, etc......But, i'm feeling so good now, why not keep it going, and off we go to freedom? I didn't relish the thought of another day bloody 1. Maybe i'm growing up. It was a good realisation.

Mr G you had me worried there for a minute reading your "bought some booze". That bloody alkie brain never stops sometimes. So proud of you for standing up to Mr AL and saying no. There is no "hurrah" about drinking just the bottom of a bottle which is murky.

Yes, the alkie/addiction thinking will stop at nothing, and throw every trick and deception in the book at us to get us to have a drink. Dangerous when we are wobbly and not 100% in our decision to stop and stay stopped. However, i feel through my current positive actions, i am turning my thinking around.
