Rephrase necessary there - the public toilets situated at the car park...then we'd continue our journey...
Next time you're down, I'll take you for a spin there... the toilets are kept very clean, there are free gas barbies and showers. Thankyou NPWS.

One and same Tawn.. Every time I go to Canberra I HAVE to go to the art gallery to the Burghers. I actually talk to them. Passersby prolly think I'm a nut case. But I love them. I can see exactly what they are saying/thinking. Must've been one hell of a council meeting. Wouldn't it be great if I could have them in my front yard. Wonder if there are any fibreglass ones around... I shall google it.

KT. That is such a haunting sculpture. What a sombre reminder of the famine.

Wonder if there's one in Scotland for the clearances.... people eating grass and the thatching off their rooves.

There was a sculpture I saw in the main square (I think) in Dublin of a trade union (I think) saying something along the lines of "we are weak because we are on our knees. Rise up from you knees" Know the one I'm talking about?

                Evening all,

Good to see you KT. I was in Dublin the year that famine sculpture was placed there. It brings me to the here and now, where too many people and families are still struggling to put food on the table in a country that can afford to feed everyone well. Don't get me started on health care and education! Our politicians here should be tried for crimes against humanity.

In other news, and you'll like this Missy.....At work, after intervention from worksafe, an illuminated fire exit sign has been erected, fire extiguishers and a fire hose have been installed. This took 2 weeks (after my notification on march 21 to fix it), compared to my bosses umming and ahhing for the last 3 months about who's responsibility it was, and the cost. Lazy, buck passing bludgers I say! My bosses soon moved their lazy arses when worksafe came on the scene. Great the jobs done and our work space is safer now, but the incompetence and inaction of my leadership/manager group at work is really pathetic and frankly unforgivable. A victory for common sense I declared aloud followed by a LOL in the office today.

                Hope all are well.

                G'day Cozza! Hiya Rags!

You are thinking of Big Jim Larkin's statue on O'Connell st (Dublin's main street) The quote in question was made during the great lock out of 1913 I believe. Now I really must away....byeeeee..

Hello Mr G. Your piccy instantly reminded me of "money for nothing and your cheques for free"... I thought he was talking about no stamp duty on cheques...thought it a bit cerebral at the time for a rock song. It took me years to realise he was actually singing about poultry.

It's nice countryside round there Mr G.

Mr. G., when I were a property and services officer for the Public Service, we'd have had an inspection at the first phone call about a potentially unsafe workplace, and a fitout within a week. Usually we were proactive with OH&S matters. You need me in your workplace mate.

I love the ones round Swanston St too. But don't get me started re Melbourne or I'll be on a flight.

Nice big steak and veg dinner to combat some weird lethargy this week.

I'm off to curl up with the dog and watch really shit TV.

                        Where are you Blowy?
