Missy - Have a super Happy Birthday and a great lunch with Rags (I'm assuming there'll be pics?!)

Best wishes to FH and his new nurse, Nicey!

MrG that's a bit chilly for a swim, do you slather on the eco-friendly, faux whale blubber for insulation or just tough it out?

Happy - I'm with you - struggling to keep up with all the healthy, happy blogs. I've a kitchen full of ingredients that, by the time I buy them, forget what they're for :H

A day and a half of pills and bed rest and my back is back to normal (ie, stiff and disintegrating!) Looking to head over east and then NZ for quality family time in a few months.:upset:

I think releasing some weight might help with my back!

Will there be a house-warming, Bridge & MrG?! Thought Tawny was the house-hunter (btw, what happened to loaf pics, frog?)

Awaiting Sinney lunch details (loved your purple kettle, btw, Rags and pleased to see no untoward reflections on said kettle )

... while we're waiting for a Birthday Luncheon Report ... had an interesting experience this morning.

Little brother was flying to New York yesterday so this morning at my 6.30am, I logged on to Flight Tracker and joined them for their final descent into JFK airport. I could see that they were currently flying at 21,500', with 103km to go, due to arrive in 13 mins, etc - refreshing every few minutes right to the time of landing. I suddenly had a profound sense of sadness when I thought of my dad who died some 13 years ago.

So I mentally sat with the Old Man and showed him stuff. Through Mrs. Google's maps we got directions from the Airport to brother's hotel on West 44th Street - we learned that normally the drive should take 32 mins but due to current traffic conditions, expect it to take 49 mins. I then showed him the inside of the hotel and the views from various floors. We even had a look at their restaurant...

It's really sad that he died without ever having discovered cyber world and the joys, knowledge and information it can bring. He would have throbbed it big time.

It was nice talking to him ... in my head.

                                Next ...
