Tawny, My Husband (fka Mr Rags) is being kept well sated and happy as I have a dental appt with him tomorrow at 9:30. in a last ditch effort to save a molar (one of my favourite ones).

If sucessful, he may regain driving priveledges.

Chance encounters continued...
Well, there was the car photographer, the parcel delivery /computer fix it man, and to-day an amazing chat with a complete stranger in the shopping mall.

While the Getz was getting serviced they'd dropped me off at a shopping mall ... supposedly for a maximum 2 hours... I could handle that.
Whilst cruising the veggie shop I stood next to a lady sussing out the gie away recipes. I saw one I wanted and we just started chatting... at first about how to use eggplant and other veggies, then when I said to google Delia, Jamie allrecipes etc but to steer away from american recipes as they really don't know how to cook (sorry Bird and Techie) etc. She told me she doesn't get to go on computer at all at home as her husband hogs it, but when she retires she'll think about using the computer .. I couldn't believe it! This was an intelligent woman who worked with computers (at work) .

She doesn't get to choose her tv programmes... as I'd been chatting about Jamies 15 minute meals and Luke and Peter on SBS and Delias summer berry thingy and cooking with eggplant .....
I got a bit uppity and asked her if she had children
"Yes, of course, but they are both grown up"

"Perfect" I said.
"Why not say to him, I bore your children and brought them up, and fed and clothed them, fed them and you etc etc ......So, I think perhaps I'm entitiled to one evening a week on the computer, and one evening a week choosing the tv programs that I'd like to watch... but don't say it as forcefully as I've just said it to you..."
She was flabberbloodygasted and said "Yes, yes"

I then told her how I had an el cheapo tv in the kitchen as I usually cook when the news etc is on and she thought that was a wonderful idea, thought for a minute then said, "yes, I know where I could put another tv....".
Hope I haven't contributed to a 37 year old marriage breakup.


25 minutes later we said goodbye...
She went away smiling and inspired....

I went and sat on a seat and waited for another 2 HOURS to be picked up by the car people. And that was after I made 2 phone calls (and tried very hard to be nice) Now do you understand why I went to Qld to buy me ute?

Evening undies!

Well my Wellington house is all packed up (apart from the cats who are staying put and some items of furniture that we are leaving behind for my lovely tenant), the car will be sold by auction on Friday night (I already have an offer in that is over the reserve so that is okay) and my air freight arrives in Sydney on Wednesday to be stored until we come back from the US.

Did my last Wellington-Sydney commute this morning and boy I'm glad to be done with that!! It effectively makes my Mondays 20-hour days.

4 more days of work and Mr B has 5 more shifts. He arrives in Sydney on Sunday morning, and then we fly out to the US next Monday!! 6 weeks holiday ...... bliss!!

Rags Chobani is fat free (the one I buy) but you would never know. I had to read the food panel. I thought it was a mistake.

So exciting Missy, 6 weeks holiday. Can't wait for pics.

Cob oven is on the backburner but I do think the Deckmaster needs another project, kids sport isn't doing it for him...
