    Bridge - you forget that I don't have a teenage boy to look after or day to day housework to do!

    Morning undies! Fabulous nights sleep was had and my niece and her family are in NZ this week so I am luxuriating in having the house to myself! It is nice having the news blaring loudly in the morning which is one of my bad habits !

      Missy - I'm so excited for you. Another chapter of life is about to open up.

      Bridge - is BP under control? Happs - have you done the camera jobbie yet?

      I think I may be approaching the inaugural firing up of the pizza oven soon as the weather is more condusive and fire restrictions are over. We shall see ... it could all end in tears of course.

          Friday is my date with Charlie the happy snapper, Froglette. I've commenced low fibre as of today. Had poached eggs and vegemite WHITE bread. I am eagerly anticipating the stewed fruit I have planned for lunch....Funny thing y'know, when I was obnoxious and a teenager I bought my own 100 grain bread and skinny milk and ate it along with a pious expression in front of my folks. Middle locust swarmed on the white bread I bought....here was me thinking the chooks were in for a treat...

                    So ... let me bore you shitless. As the Pizza Oven Challengers have been too slack (too B&I) to get their ARSES into gear, I couldn't wait any longer. So this morning at 10am I lit the inaugural fire:



                    Everything behaved as planned. The bamboo formwork and cardboard tube flue burnt out. The chicken wire cage and layers of mud held together beautifully. I let the flames die down and waited for coals and then plonked in a pizza stone.



                    Everything was still ok. No leaks and the flue worked brilliantly. Noticed a few hairline cracks on the dome. In went the pizza - sorry I was fresh out of figs and prosciutto so cheese, pepperoni, anchovies and roast peppers had to do.



                    So, I confirm the oven works - will now just work on making the pizzas prettier.



                    This whole exercise has given me a lot of pleasure and trust it will continue to do so.
