Inspired by our chat over brekkie in Dublin, I've started a thread about giving back....
        Hi Pings

Read yer thread and been thinking! In my humble and honest opinion i gain alot from different folk on this site, in different ways if ya know what i mean? The fact that you are here and sober after over 2yrs, living life without drowning yourself in a bottle is inspirational to me. You show that it can be done Same goes for likes of Molls, JC, Mrs A, Mario, Tips and all. Not very good at making my point but hope you catch me drift:H

Never underestimate the power of just cheering someone on. You don't have to give advice - you just have to care.
Well it's all right now. I've learned my lesson well. You see you can't please everyone, so you've got to please yourself.

Yes that was me. I'm from the US - East coast. I have a lot of British friends, though. They educate me. I always say I speak a little British. I understand most of the conversations. I had to look up leaba and I'm not sure what corrie is - Coronation Street?

And yes, just saying 'Welcome, I understand what you are going through." and "You can do this." means everything to a scared newbie who is just realizing they have a problem and is overwhelmed.

                        Evening all.

Dunno what's wrong with me and computers today

Took me half an hour to do Techie's thread and now I'm going through the 'I hope he likes it' Gawd I hate starting threads.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

                          Yo Siren.

Back to the topic of the day.

There are some days I feel I have something to give and other days apart from having a bit of a natter on the Army I have absolutely nothing.

I don't know if this makes sense but if I just going through the motions I'm sure it comes out in my typing.

I try to greet newbs who create their own threads just so they know someone hears them and cares what they are going through. I usually try to get them over to the Nest so they can see they are not alone and others with more AF time can help them.

Hi, I hear you. I understand and if I can do this so can you.

                              It's that easy...

Bloody hard but the only way out is not to drink. Easy to say but hard to do--However,it works
