    Army Thread Wednesday 1st May

Good afternoon everybody, and jeez for once it actually is, sun is shining, I'm feeling good and the wife has himself a job interview. It is officially Day 1 mark *cough*4*cough* today. 4th time lucky? xD Actually feeling good about it this time, got a plan (a proper one, with stuff to do and everything) and almost enjoying the idea of a clear head. Thanks Molly for remembering :l had time for a little read back:

Sweetpea: sorry about your father being ill, shingles does seem to be a major problem this year, hearing alot of our customers at work have had it.

LPC: wishing you all the best with exams, you sound like me when i was at uni - had 10 weeks to do exam prep work for our final show, I worked 18 hour days for 6 of the ten weeks, fell asleep on the bus most mornings I was so exhausted! I'd tell you to relax, but I know when people told me that I had no intention of doing so til the work was done haha.

JC: thats really lovely what you do with your knitting my older brother was premature and very very small.

Reccie: thinking of you today, sending you all the best. we seem to be sharing dates for taking big steps now don't we?

Hope everybody else is well, over half way through hump day here, which is actually my day off - to be real weird, Friday is hump day for me haha.

    -Inchy

EDIT: regarding cvs, one of my friends recently got a job by answering the question 'how much experience do you have' with 'about as much as you need for this job' xD
I have faced it, a life wasted, and I am never going back there again

To ya'll my name is inchy. I am an alcoholic - and priority number one is making it to the end of this day AF. No excuses.

      Lovely day here
I was wondering if you spoke Irish molly. Do people actually speak Irish much over there?

Agreed with my other half that if I fail this time I have to go speak to people and get help so either way, this can only be a good thing right?

hope your appointment went well x

It's not fear of drinking that worries me today, I feel better then I have in years but I still have a few screws to turn. I really want to apply for new jobs, but I'm blocked by self doubt, fear of rejection etc in this area, old habits die hard, with this comes the old dog procrastination, the more I do this the worse I feel, but everytime I try to get the ball rolling I want to do it perfectly and feel my head is too cluttered to do it right and put it off. The whole malarky is making me feel alittle uncomfortable, peace of mind is under threat. I know I'd feel great I just did it, it all sounds maybe mad but I'm stuck and frustrated and really want to just do it today, it would be an amazing lift for me. So I just need a little push in the right direction from all you good folks today if you could advise

Hope all is well in all your world too
Hi Sugar The CV can be prepared well in advance of any job applications and you will then have plenty of time to try to do a good job with that. If you're not confident of your ability to produce a really good CV, have it done professionally. Then all you need to do when you apply for a job is write or print a short covering letter highlighting the particular qualities you have that you would bring to the job.

That sounds like a plan inchy. Go for it. And stick to it! :goodjob:

Like you, I'm feeling fairly cheerful today. Not sure if it's the wall to wall sunshine or the way my appointment went. Basically I've got a further 5 sessions, not necessarily at weekly intervals, to taper down. If that doesn't work it sounded as though they'll refer me to another agency for detox. I think they get paid by results in this part of the country, so they're not going to hang around. If/when I get off the drink there is further support available that I'm not sure how I feel about it, but I'll cross that bridge if/when the time comes.

Total skiverville going on here with lil ol' moi.

How are yis all? Reccie - good to hear on your appt. You sound quite grounded, realistic and taking things as they come. Thinking of you mate. Inchy too - Go day 1 - and here's to Go day 2,3,4,5,6.... yup you get me drift. Similarly you're sounding positive, realistic and hopeful. Excellent. And you got yerself a plan. Magic.

am at work - am using this time on MWO here to mull over some stuff with regards my work... i am tap tap tapping away and going think thinky think thinkythinky think about something REALLY important about work. Like whether I open that excel spread sheet or not. Or whether I go pour myself another cup of water or not. Or whether I actually click back into my emails. Or not.

So... well... doesn't Zenny's decking look good huh? Should all get a cheap (:H) flight out to Florida and sun ourselves (come on, who are we kidding, the sun we have today will be gone tomorrow and we'll be crying that, well, that was Summer 2013. :woot:

Um... life in arsey's end of the world (not an appealing sounding end of the world) trickles along (another unappealing description)... forthcoming highlights include the Windermere marathon (with oor whizzy ), a run to the top of a hill (like to the VERY top) next week and my dad's birthday this weekend... Once July hits, I'm heading over to join NASA as part of a team who are heading out to the International Space Station as part of day trip to see whether it's possible to melt brie in space.

OK, peeps are getting suspicious cos I'm not typing on an Word document. Will write soon... :hallo:

Made me smile there Reccy, they're not paid by results. They're funded by results.

                                You're sounding very positive.

Well the son and heir didn't get the job. He must be mightily hacked off.

Still he's orff to Florida next week. I'll get him to try out Zen's decking (that sounded a bit oooh errr Mrs).
It could be worse, I could be filing.
