    Army Thread Saturday 11th May

    Good morning, folksies

I crashed out last night. Mrs. T found me with the tablet on my chest and my glasses still on, fast asleep.

Quite a few things to do. 1st going to watch the cubs playing netball and hockey, then shopping.

    Have a lekker Saturday, everyone!
    I'll do whatever it takes

Was at a funeral yesterday, my brothers wife's mother.usual Irish funeral, lots of food lots of drink and lots of good memories and fun, anyway I was drinking my tea when this English gentleman came over to me and asked was I one of them,

So I guessed rightly he was talking about the aa :-) and sure enough I was right he was of the drink 3 years and was delighted to have met a fellow non drinker,

He was a committed aa man and as I I don't go to aa I was telling him 'about here, he was delighted in hearing about it and was quite interested anyway in the heel of the hunt I had a great auld yap with him and it was a great plesure in talking to him.

That's it excuse the writing as I am still getting use to this tablet and have been told that laptops are old news :-( have a good day.

                Morning army

Mario had me wondering what "in the heel of the hunt" means so I did a quick google and came across a very interesting site with a Dublin slang dictionary and phrasebook. Might come in useful to folks on this side of the Irish sea and elsewhere.

Morning Tipperooo, marioooo, Our Whizzy, Foxyloxy, Satzuma, Reccybear

It's a fabulous phrase.'the heel of the hunt'. It will be put in the Bumper Book of JC Phrases.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

It was a mistake to come home before doing the shopping. I am about to commit a load of laundry to the washing line :upset:

AND Reccie - Molls & me were having you over here to live last year - remember ?
So you really need to brush up on your Dublinese 'cos you'll be fecked otherwise.
Even I laughed at that site Reccie. I LOVE my Dublin roots but really never get to hear enough of it these days:upset:
Only when Molls comes out with a gem or two & I laugh my head off !

Wish Mario would stay and chat sometimes too .
