    Army thread Monday 13th May

    Morning sweetie

I'm actually sleeping surprisingly well considering the reduction in my alcohol consumption, but I have been getting up very early. I like to walk when there's no-one about.

Enjoy your two days off and your time with your Granny and Daddy. Is/are your Dad's shingles any better?

Getting it done in Asda car park.
I thought maybe they just laid you all down on your sides end to end and drove over 'the ladies' with some special cancer sensing tires. That's what it feels like, anyway. Maybe that's how they are so precise on the time, too.
Well it's all right now. I've learned my lesson well. You see you can't please everyone, so you've got to please yourself.

Ah Reccie- glad to hear your sleeping well/better Maybe the reduction has helped? Big well done to you btw on the tapering:l Ive never tried tapering, kinda know once i start there's no stopping, imagine it takes lots of will-power.

Dad is much better just the odd nerve-like pain and still has the visible signs which are what bother him more- he's a terribly vain man! Thanks for asking xx

        Hiya Siren :hiya:

          Helloooooo!

I had shingles a few years ago - at age 41! Very stress related. I caught it early, thank goodness, but can still 'feel' the spot where the rash was as if it was still there. Usually you have the intense nerve pain before you get the rash, but of course I had to be different I had it on my back and feel very lucky as some people get it in their eyes and other places on their faces.

This reminds me - I need to go get the vaccination. I don't want it again!

Morning to You Siren and Mushypea.

Should tell you, Siren, Asda is our equivalant of Walmart. In fact I think Walmart own them.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Morning all! Hope all the Mommies had a great day - mine was wonderful. Woke up too early in a panic for some reason. Oh yeah. Monday and I work with crazy clients. Oh well. All the girls are home now, eldest is home from college, middle is sick and will be home today with a bad cold, the little one slept with me....sideways on the bed with feet in my side, but I didn't mind the company Hope she wakes up healthy! Anyway, off to get ready for work. Hope everyone is well. Love Waggy

Sorry, missed this earlier. Glad to hear your dad's better, sweetie. Our parents can be a worry to us at times, especially as they get older.

On the subject of tapering, I have the same problem as you (and probably most alcoholics do too) in that once I get started there's no stopping. What I did to begin with was to gradually increase the interval between emptying one bottle, sobering up and then going out and buying another bottle. At the beginning that interval was pretty well zero, so I increased it to a couple of hours, then four hours and so on so that the average amount consumed each day over the course of the week fell. There is will power required to postpone drinking for an extra hour or two, but it's somewhat less than the will power required to stop drinking once you've started. I couldn't do that.

                  Hi waggy and siren

Hi Waggy. We do not celebrate Mothering Sunday on the same day as US. Our day in Europe is earlier. Sounds like you had a nice day

Sorry to have been like a sleeping soldier in the army. Been really busy when I have not been asleep-- After this marathon with Arsey on Sunday I am going to take life much easier:H

Well I'm back and feel a complete tool.:upset:

Got the appointment time right but the day wrong. It was 10th May. Rescheduled for 29th May @ 9.48am.

Didn't help that Mr JC asked if they couldn't just squeeze me in. I'll let him off as he knoweth not what he sayeth.

Off to sulk in the shed.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Even Mrs 'I never eat breakfast' JC might just have a little scrambled egg.

Off for a mammagrab later this morning. Not pleasant but has to be done.
