    Army Thread 17th May

    :hallo: JC

I'll settle for just a cup of tea, thanks. I've already had two carrot muffins...

Off to my last meeting for the day, and then headed home. See you laters.

In from the garden (and I use the term loosely). It's looking a little bit tidier. Don't think I'll bother with the walk - I've already had enough exercise today with the mower. And I made too much spinach soup for lunch, so it's gonna have to be soup and a hot demi-baguette for dinner as well. Still, it'll save on the washing up.

Early afternoon snoozes are good for you, I reckon, molly. You must have needed it too.

        :hallo: Molly and Wreccie.

Listening to the two of you makes me really grateful that we have the housekeeper and gardener. Dunno what we would have done without them.

Sweet potato wheels (literal translation of 'patatwiele' ) in the oven to take with to the birthday dinner / party. I think / hope / wish Mrs. T will allow me to stay home... I'm dead tired and not up to being social.

Recipe: 1kg cooked and mashed sweet potato spread on packet of puff pastry. Roll, slice and bake at 200C for 40 minutes. Melt 250ml sugar (of which 50ml brown) in 250ml cresm. Pour over sweet potato as soon as it comes out of the oven. Sweet and rich, but bloody tasty. It'll be served with braaied snoek tonight. Snoek is a type of deep water fish that is very popular in this part of Saffaland.

Blonde question: why "army" thread? Is this an American expression? If so, what does it mean? :-)

We're just a group of people who are all fighting alcoholism together - hence the term Army. The people here are from all over the world, with the majority from Ireland and the UK. I'm from South Africa.

:welcome: again. I saw your post in the meds forum. Did a doctor in Switzerland prescribe your baclofen? I'm a baclofen old-timer myself, from the days most of us self-prescribed. God, I get kinda nostalgic thinking back on it :H
