Great work on all you've achieved DriftyAlison. The sky's the limit when alcohol's out the picture.

    Congratulations!!

Congratulations! You have a strong mind.

What does it feel like now after these two years? Is the ghost of AL still around, or is it just a vague memory? Do you want to take a drink, or do you truly understand that AF life is more rewarding, more positive and more interesting?

It feels great after two years. I feel I have a hold on this battle, however I know to always be on guard for the beast because he will try to rear his ugly head every now and then (and when he does, its weaker then he used to be and he doesn't appear as often). AL ghost is pretty much a vague memory, but there are still times like I have already said that he will try to come back and I put my plan in place and he goes. He is weaker now than he was 2 years ago. There are still those times when I want a drink, but I can easily turn my craving into a past thought and think of you all and God. Scan you have it in you to make it to this point. You just need to kick AL to the curb forever.
I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.

Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.

Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

                  Drifty,

Congratulations to you for your achievements, AL related and life related.

I agree, you would not have been able to do nearly so well if you had spent hours drinking and days recovering.

I also want to say thank you for posting this. It is very encouraging to all on MWO when one of ours achieves long term sobriety.
