Dreams of drinking
I have been having quite a few of these night mares. The relief of waking up sober is priceless. Kinda like them actually as they remind me ofthe horror of my drinking days. Anyone know how long they last ? Iam past 100 daysIts for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm then and DO NOT let yourself be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Gal 5:1Tags: None

I have them too sometimes, and they can seem quite real. But yes, what a relief to wake up and not have the dreaded hangover or anxiety!:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

I doubt they will last much longer hun. As you say they aren't real, but can feel that way. I haven't had one in quite a while. One time when I did, it seemed really real & scary... I just got busy, but I had a good cry first.
Your doing grrt! :l

Yes it happen me a couple of times lately and i'm only over 3 weeks sober. Then can be quite graphic and scary but the relief i felt last time and woke up knowing it was only a dream whew panic over lol. Not pleasent but guess its part of being sober as long as they don't drive us back to drink. Won't go back if ya offered me a million al has been hell for me at times. Well done in 100 plus days.

Dreams of drinking
I haven't had any of those dreams for quite some time, but when I have had them, they are very unnerving & feel so real.
In my dreams, I would find myself half-way through a drink or cigarette before I realized what I was doing... and then the awful realization that I had "ruined" everything. What a relief it is to wake up & realize that it in fact, only a dream.
I remember one dream I had of drinking, it took probably close to 5 minutes upon awakening to figure out that I had been dreaming... and that my quit was still intact.AF 6 years

I too think its the subconscious mind doing its thing Wild Flowers. Good ideas there. The sugar has been the hardest to shake but the green smoothies i take every morning have been really helpful with cutting back on the sugar. Iam very thankful for most of you guys who have gone before us and donate you time and knowledge generously to help total strangers. Its for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm then and DO NOT let yourself be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Gal 5:1

Dreams of drinking
I haven't had the dreams recently but once in awhile I do have a AL dream. I do feel relief when I ether wake up and know it was a dream or in the dream itself I find out its just a dream.I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.
Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.
Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

Dreams of drinking
I only had one drinking dream and that was my second night sober. In the dream I was sipping a drink, stopped, stared at it and said 'OMG ! I am drinking poison !'
It was a lightbulb moment for me......I had never seen alcohol as a poison, only as a social drink that I couldn't limit.
Weird huh? The mind is so powerful. Mine rejected alcohol from that point and I have never wanted it or dreamt of it since.
