Morning (actiually afternoon for most of you!)! Slept in a whole hours (crazy I know) . The sports night was great. C got three awards and got chosen for the All-Star Game for Softball. So proud. A friend of mine, whom I have spoken before of, was sulking at the end of the night (and smelling of wine that ws obviously consumed before the ceremony) and went on and on bout how her daugter (my daughter's best friend) ws never recongized. "I make her go to the games even if she doesn't want to!!!"...well, that pretty much sums up this little girl (who is very sweet btw). No effort into anything. If she has to be "made" to play a game, she does not have her heart in it. She did not get a scholarship to the high school because she did not attempt to apply or anything. She did not get sports award because she put no effort into any sport she played. She did not run for May Queen because she did not want to write the essay that qualifies you for it. She is the mom who kept all three kids home one day because she "just couldn't get out of bed". (I called her on that one). I love this woman, and maybe it's because she always needs my help, but last night she actually made me feel guilty about C's accomplishments! My daughter works for everything she gets - she studies extra hard, she practices exra hard - things are not just given to her, which is what she implied last night. She is the most petite in her group, so she tries doubly hard. Alot of this comes form booze. I have talked to the mom about her drinking, about the money problems that she has because of the foolish choices she makes because she is either buzzed or hungover. She agrees, but won't do anything. I really feel for her and don't want to cut ties to her because of the best friend situation, but I am tired of her blaming others and acting like her daughter deserves kudos for doing absolutely nothing. She stopped drinking for a while after I had a nice talk with her, but she went back soon after. Things were getting better during her sober time, but it was not important enough. Sorry to vent guys, it was just really on my mind and made me angry that she would steal my joy like that. F'ing booze.

Morning all! Everyone sounds in fine form today! The cake looked great MollY!

Zenny, I'm creating a new kind of category for eating. The working title is Eco-Flexitarian. You can eat whatever you choose as long as it's locally-sourced, free-range/cage-free, grass-fed, hormone and antibiotic-free, and organic. So basically I'm grazing out in my own backyard
Well it's all right now. I've learned my lesson well. You see you can't please everyone, so you've got to please yourself.

What in the name of CREATION is an after wedding do? OMG... I'm appalled. We have the GMO crops which is terrible but, to the best of my knowledge, we do not have after wedding do's. I wouldn't go to one... can tell you that for nowt. Me own wedding was bad enough.

Mollers... want to tell us about your first love?! I have my slippers on and my feet propped up and I'm all ready for a good yarn! ;o)

Satz... did you almost miss your own wedding or did I read it wrong?!

Oh FFS... is there anyone normal around these parts? LMFAO! The taxi broke down on the way to the church for my own wedding. And a cockroach was climbing up my dress... I just about choked!

"Skulling" it... haven't heard that in eons! OMG... laughing my arse off. And Jackie with yer wan with the same hat at the last one... Hahahaaaa! Destined to hate weddings, me!

                Happy birthday to Mrs T!

Siren... I'm getting really stressed with sourcing food. I'm trying to joke about it but I'm awful fed up. Where do you buy from? At this rate I reckon I'll just starve to death hon!

It HAS to be grass fed, or we get the GMO grain in the meat. And those poor chickens... it HAS to be cage free. Gah! really... it's horrible. I can get the farmers market veggies, but not all of them are organic. I am actually driving quite a ways to get the veggies but I still haven't sourced grass fed meat.

It's a lot easier in Scotland Siren. No kidding. This is ridiculous, that we can't trust the products they're selling to us you know... (

I live in farm country, so I'm lucky that way. I have a couple of organic farms around me, some that raise farm animals in a humane way. I go to farmers markets, too.

Have you considered joining a CSA in your area? Community Supported Agriculture (CSAs) in Florida - Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services

Well heck, you know... that one in Boynton Beach is do-able. I'm going to call them. Thanks for that link! We've been looking for a CSA... that is brill! Going to wake up the other half to tell him!

                      Thank you!

Afternoon army. Went to the 1pm AA meeting in Bray town then a browse around the shops after. Got 5 choccy bars in for 2e in euro shop and then to Lidl for a few items. I don't think we have been hit with the gmo veggie/meat crap yet like Molls said there was talk of it coming in here but it wasn't passed as a lot of objections from farmers some politicans and consumers. I hope it doesn't start up here. Painted me toenails a nice blus this morning and wore my lovel bronze flat sandels. Sun has gone in but its stil warm and dry. I don't like going to after wedding do's either and don't get asked to many tg. Got one coming up in September but i'll go for an hour and sneak out when its busy. In the past i would have drank at these things and stayed till late but i'll be prepared this time if i do show up. Well enjoy your saturday evening whatever your plans.

                                Greetings, FoxyLoxy

Those choccies sound like a bargain.

Our local food supply seems OK - but ignorance is bliss, I guess.

I have left Mrs. T well alone for my own safety, Molls. That's what one gets for marrying the original cougar :H
