HI, sorry if this isn't the right to place to post. I took one antabuse this am for the first time, 250mg. If I have a drink today will I get sick? How long does it take to kick in. The doc told me it takes awhile to build up so I'm wondering. I am in agony from not drinking and I want to have a drink to make the feeling go away. Argh.

If your withdrawals are very bad, call your gp and ask for enough Librium to get through the next couple of days. Withdrawal from alcohol can be serious, as I am sure you know from your other thread.
AB should not have been taken until you were certain there was no left over alcohol in your system.
You will get sick if you drink. Don't add to your misery. Call your doc.

I don't have a scientific answer for you but do know that both in this country and the UK it is Librium that is more prescribed for withdrawals, including anxiety, than Valium.Comment

Valium, Librium and Ativan are all used in AWS.
Librium is the oldest drug, Valium is the strongest.
None of the above should be mixed with alcohol, period.
