    Advice please

    Hi all, long time no post for me! Hi to anyone who remembers me and hope you are all well.

    I have moved house from Yorks to Lancs and I went to register at my new GPs yesterday, I saw the practice nurse who tested my urine sample and found slight traces of protein, she said it was most likely a slight urine infection and would send away for testing, I am now completely panic stricken and worried sick it might be something more sinister and drink related I had my first AF night last night for a long long time and I am really really worried :upset: has anyone else had this and what was your outcome please? (been googling and thinking the worst now )

    WALK AWAY FROM GOOGLE, WEB MD, ETC! Seriously - you wlll drive yourself nuts. I am not a doctor and do not know what that means, but if it was very serious, I believe they would have said something. Stay calm and it is most likely just what they said - an infection. Drink loads of water and cranberry juice in the meantime, and stay off the booze.

        Hi Mauri,

        Welcome back!
        I hope you get a new plan together for yourself & drop back in the Newbies Nest for support

        A little protein in the urine is fairly common & nothing to worry about. If it is persists & in large amounts then further testing will be necessary. Just keep yourself well hydrated & stop drinking AL!

        Don't wait for bigger problems to develop, take care of yourself now

          Advice please

          It is my understanding that the liver can actually regenerate cells. So when we stop poisoning it we allow it to repair. Waiting for test results is painfully slow here I hope it's faster for you. But in the meanwhile being AF can only help!

            I got my results back a good while ago now and feel bad that I never thought to post the outcome, my urine test came back absolutely fine and I am very thankful for that! I am going to post in the starting out forum now...
