You know, as i was walking through the front gate tonight upon my arrival home, i noticed my upstairs neighbour cooking dinner and going about general stuff in yer sunday tracky daks and t-shirt slob mode, with dog at her feet. It struck me that right there is probably yer unsung hero style. She has mentioned to me that her dog is wary of strangers, particularly males smelling of alcohol. She told me the dog had experienced abuse via his previous owner/s. I didn't ask for details, but i'm tipping this single woman in her 40's, who has obviously been around the block a few times and has come here from interstate in the last couple of years, may be an ex alkie who's removed herself from an abusive AL fuelled relationship and now lives humbly in her apartment livng the sober life one day at a time. I can see booze has been an issue for her (my another addict radar), and it just struck me tonight what a hero she is. Quietly going about her new life here in Melbourne with her dog, and etching out a humble living as a cleaner.

I thought of all the recovering pissheads here there and everywhere. Many humbly doing the big, heroic, one minute, hour, day at a time work that it takes to live sober and take back your life.

Ex pissheads/any addict who reclaims their life constantly amaze me. And i am one.

I don't know what a lolly cobble bliss bomb is Reg but it doesn't sound organic!

Day one of my ice-cream abstinence today ....... and I had a decent 7km walk along the coast. I really miss living beside the sea ..... having to catch a bus to get to it just isn't the same!!

And I made a vegan soup tonight .... it has tofu in it which is a very effective deterrent against eating a lot I have found :H:H

Happy Monday!

Even though I'm on leave I'm at the command desk for a wee while. A meeting at 9.30 then offski for me. Finance meeting which does my head in.

It seems everyone had a busy weekend. I peeked in but no time to post. All creatures ('cept FH) washed and groomed ready for their holiday. We'll leave soon after I get home from here.

Salute to Mr G. Lovely post Mr G. Everyone has their own little place on the planet but ultimately we all seek the same. Love, shelter, comfort, peace, financial gain. It struck me when I did a bit of travelling that no matter where I went people were still doing the same things - just in a different location. We never know what is going on in another's life, so respect and regard should always be.

Missy - good luck with controlling the ice-cream monster. I just lurve ice-cream so mostly stay right away. I go into a trance and before I know it the whole tub is gonski!

I'll 'see' you all a bit laters. And, there WILL be updates from the Hunter - entirely for your entertainment.

Recently discovered the rowing machine at Jim's. Deceptively difficult as you rack up 5 minutes on the thing. Easy at first. But it's great for the arms, and back, and it's so good to work and stretch our muscles isn't it Bridge?

Rags those core exercises sound very effective. I hope you don't need to cough, laugh or sneeze for the next couple of days,.

I made an ENORMOUS pot of vegie soup yesterday. It's so big that not only could you all come for dinner, but we could probably use it as a hot tub.

Hello to all the Roos from Alabama, USA.

Still dark here but twilight is coming soon so I imagine most will be going horizontal soon.

I see several are working out here and feeling the pain.

Someone once told me the pain was good because it meant you were doing something.

I just kind of stared at him. I don't mind pain unless it is on my body.

Anyhow, as I haven't read back too far I am hoping all are well.

Amazingly, this southern woman is still sober. Waking up grateful for that today.
