I think it was the wee kid in me got out for a while today. I have some mixed emotions about what happened when I was growing up here and I've always held it against her for not protecting me. But I'm an adult now and I better pull those socks up.
Obviously a dinnae ken yer maw - or the history an a' that. But... sounds a wee bitty like she's the kid here? (Ever spoken to her about your mixed emotions???) Parents not protecting, or somehow failing to protect (even if they don;t mean to) can breed life long resentment... even if for the only reason that one of their jobs, as parent, is to protect. Please mind yourself that by smoothing things over - i.e. YOU change, she disnae - that you don't get more resentful.

(By the way - I speak from the child's perspective as I have not yet had the privilige to be a parent)... Molls and Tipps and Satz and jacs and Whizzy and Questy and P3 (where is she?!) and others all have experience of the parent job.

I'll shurrup now. Jist had a cawfee so am a bit verbose.

Are you in work at present ?
How are you feeling today on Day 1 ?:goodjob:
        hi Satz,

I'm not working at the moment - got made redundant a few weeks back, remarkably not AL-related!

I'm doing okay. crappy night's sleep last night, so just woken up from a tactical nap & feel a bit more human now. I can do day1's, it's day3's that I struggle with

congrats on your 36 years btw!

There was a couple across from us ordered lobster - this caught my attention of course ..... I'd say they just got engaged - they were all over each other like a rash - he was hanging on her every word.
Jazus the difference between them and us. Mr S was looking over my shoulder as I spoke.
Now - I can do that -'cos I is a woman & can listen to 2 conversations at once ( been proven - stop laughing) - but Mr S

So pleased you came back. Day 3 was always my falling point.
I know I've said before but worth saying again.
                  Day 1) Feeling proper crap.
Day 2) Bit better not much sleep, less crapper
Day 3) So much better, what was the problem.............I'll just have a couple.

                  Rinse and repeat.

Looks like you know that day 3 is going to be the biggie so a plan is needed.

A good read through the https://www.mywayout.org/community/f1...box-27556.html for a start.

Does anyone know where that 101 things to do instead of drinking thread is?
