Ach well, now you've got me started on Nashville. Ye didnae ken whut ye was dain' when ye started this convo! First orf, me dad's from Nashville. It's a long story but I was born over here... in Detroit... and me Ma and I went to Scotland when I was 3. Secondly... been to Nashville a couple of times... and one event stands out lol. 'Twas an Irish pub on the main drag - they had a band playing that had NO clue what the words were to the stuff they were singing - Zenners was three sheets to the wind and decided it was best for all concerned that she got up on stage to help them out. The Scottish accent saved me... reckon they'd have thrown me off the stage otherwise! :H I sang a few songs with them and all... feck's sakes...

Inchy me love, violence in your home is not acceptable and no matter if you love him or not he needs to be reported even if it's only for his own good. Just my own humble opinion and I'm glad you have a place of safety to go to.
Pleased you bottom is still where your bottom is supposed to be Satz, me darling.:l

An all about me post coming up.
Sir Pee is driving. Got a big tick, V.G and a gold star for his recovery.
Funeral is next Thursday. It will be Humanist Celebration of the best uncle in the world doubled.
Today I've had my eyebrows threaded, changed my hair appointment, talked to my very upset Granny( who at the moment doesn't know if she's in York or Cork), nearly fainted when I saw the wedding pressie Jenz has bought her friend (Vera Wang candle holders ), but she's a bridesmaid and it was on the list, bought a large lantern candle holder type thing and 3 bags of Cadbury's Whispers bites.
Oh and I've got a rolly sore foot from where the dog stood on it.It could be worse, I could be filing.

Well delighted himself is on the mend --- that's great news and I'm guessing you is more than a weeeee bit relieved that he's resumed driving duties - does he dispose of the bog seat now?
Those Humanist funerals are the best ones - my auntie had one a few years ago and they're great --- deffo what I would want --- if I HAVE to have anything.
Poor ol' granny:l
Yep, Jilly's present to Sarah last month HORRIFIED me --- feckin hell, it's just bloody greedy imo --- those lists should be banned --- remember scouring one for my nephew looking for the cheapest thing on it and THAT was about 300 quid........
Well done on the shopping - haven't physically BEEN in a shop for WEEKS --- keep puttin me working in shop-free zones ---- I'm CHOMPING at the bit for a bit of retail therapy
My mate who died earlier this year had a humanist funeral. What made his so great was his maw speaking, his bro speaking and the life music being played. It was a good service. I once wrote a poem about the funeral i wanted and sent it to my folks. My dad still keeps it. It wasn't a humanist one - not that i'd necessarily want a conventional religious one - but it was one where i wanted every walk of life to be there and there to be no dogmas or prescriptions of faith or people saying "and now pray at this point" or whatever. Hmmm.... will maybe try and find it... basically, i just want it to be a celebration and the absolute antithesis of some dirge.
Pressies are weird. Well, what i mean is we all love getting them, but for the last 4 or 5 years my folks haven't given me a birthday simply because each year i can't think of something and time goes by and the next year is upon us. At xmas... my bro and i get summat fairly straight forward - a new jumper or some such thing. And that is fine. Less is more. Presents are about meaning, not about the object given. I really wish more people would get that.
Having said that... it's not like i'm frugal. Bank just text me to say "WARNING WARNING - NO MONEY LEFT!!!".... Need to stop wasting money on buying juice and crisps during the day... or running gear :H
Off to find that poem...
