Good outcome Missy. Maybe not the ultimate best for yourself, but the service carries on and employment for other folk.
    Well done you.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

you are not going to believe this .......

its a nice day today, so I hung a few things outside to air.

I was sitting upstairs doing emails when I smelled burning. It was getting stronger so I went downstairs to investigate, to find that a cotton rug, which was draped over a plastic chair, was smouldering with a big burn hole in it. I couldn't for the life of me work out what had caused it until I hung it back over the chair where it had been ...... the reflection off the stainless steel rubbish bin (which I'd also put outside) was acting like a magnifying glass where the sun hit it!!!!!!!

So now my cheap and cheerful $10 mat from Target is wrecked!

That?s terribly scary Miss B! I wonder if that could happen through the window. I?m always terrified of a fire starting when I?m not here and my poor little Bella is unable to get out. Well done on the job front. It?s always good to know you have some security for a while.

I'm glad you're home safe and well bird.

Mr G your musical knowledge astounds me!

Bridget I got the feeling from your post that if you saw me coming you might shut the gate while I had one limb through! :H

So, just so you all know I?m not being deliberately provocative, I ?ll see you your Lurpak and raise you my President La Motte! President Cheese - Products. It's made from milk from French cows so I defy you to try it without exclaiming Ooh La La! Has anyone tried Pepe Saya? Apparently that's the pig's pyjamas of butters!

You can eat all the non-Lurpak butter and rindless (GACK!) cheese you like ... all is forgiven because I had totally forgotten about that particular Python episode. Thank you! PMSL

                              1. Would we need to be doing our part from the inside perimeter of the drawer? And if so, do we get special formal military undies to wear for the occasion?

                              2. If we break curfew are we stuck outside until morning?

                              and most importantly

                              3. Will they provide the snacks?

Today I was not made redundant from the job wot I packed up my life and came across the Tasman for. I haven't been able to talk about it because it has all been hush-hush, but the possibility of the place I work for being closed down has been hanging over my head since I came back from holiday. I've been working on a rescue plan for us for the last two weeks, and today the big wigs gave us until 30 June 2014 to make it work. I'm celebrating with a very large tub of chocolate ice-cream :thumbs: Although the thought had crossed my mind that I wouldn't have been averse to the idea of them paying me out of the remainder of my contract and I could go and sit on the beach for two years ........

Going to sleep tonight feeling a bit more secure than I have done for a few weeks!
Missy I'll phone you.. That must be a sigh of relief for you. But very tense nevertheless.

I made your cauliflower soup using Kaiser fleisch instead of bacon ( which is way too salty for me) and I popped a bit of thickened cream in it.

                                My guests loved it.
