    Army Thread Saturday 3rd August

    Good morning, Army

Turns out I had to get up early today. The eldest cub is off to play hockey at a sports day against a school that is some 120km from here. The reason: I had to put his contact lenses in for him Why can't an almost 17 y/o do it himself and why the feck do I allow it? :upset:

    Have a lekker Saturday, folksies.
    I'll do whatever it takes

    Mornin' troops.
Awake with the lark this morning ...... and the sound of sparrows farting

Decided don't like living alone - been doing for past 3 days .....
Thought I was a loner but appears not

Mr T - you mean you had to poke the cubs eye to put in the lens? How precisely DOES one person put in another persons contact lenses?!

          Exactly what I thought

Ended up with Chinese food last night. Chop suey roll, chips and curry sauce. It was bliss.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Well... you remove the contact lens from its little holder, rinse, place it on the tip of a finger and transfer to the subject's eyeball. It requires the subject to pull the eyelids open, then release and blink. According to the cub, he can get the 1st one in himself, but then can't focus to do the 2nd.

Having a cup of coffee before doing mum's taxi duty. Her hair appointment is in 30 minutes.

We had Chinese too last night, JC. Very glad that they opened at the little centre nearby.

JEEZUS... I have enough trouble poking me own eye when i put a contact in, let alone have someone else's hands poking me eyeball... Methinks it would be harder.

Is that on the job description for fatherhood in saffaland?
"As and when required poke offspring in eye to benefit their sight" ...???

You weren't at the same place as us. It's a new one that's just opened at a little centre near us. Coincidence or what.

                  Didn't know you wore contacts.

And yes that's somewhere in the small print of the 8 squillion things we do for children.

Putting contact lenses in is far preferable to having to traipse to the toilet when a toddler yells " Daddy, I'm done!"

My only condition before we got our 1st dog was that I be exempted from poo patrol. Cat litter is more acceptable, but luckily ours go outside.

Urmmmmmmmmm... maybe we should change the topic now. Knowing the Army, it'll be downhill from here in no time.

Believe it or not I take surgical gloves and several poo bags when I'm on poo patrol.

Now normal service shall now resume as I have an image of D'arsey lying down in a cold room shaking in horror.

Oooh where's Reccy. We have a 2 flowering gladioli. They are gigantic.
