Good evening from a very wet Yorkshire. In a country house miles from anywhere.

Zen that was outrageous charging your Ma. My kids send me stuff from overseas ( for themselves) Never seem to pay extra duty!

      Hope everyone is ok.

And do you know at the party the other night it didn't bother me one jot that other people were drinking. As far as my AlkieRadar could see none of them were drinking alcoholically. They were having a few drinks with a few friends. Nice to see and I wasn't made to feel an outsider. Some of them I'd never met and not one of them questioned why I didn't drink. Lovely.

The under-appreciation thing. I'm just hoping that maybe, just maybe something I say will hit a cord in some one's mind.

It wouldn't be a JC BBQ without weather extremes. Anyhoo I'll be up in the corner up again under the gazebo with a cup of coffee and the only ash tray. Amazing how many friends I can congregate.
I missed the convo and haven't read back but I'm getting the gist of it. I'm hoping you;re not feeling under-appreciated though... :l

Re you not drinking and nobody else bothering about that... the general populus don't give a rat's arse if you're imbibing. That's just alkie reasoning to enable oneself to say "Must have one in my hand so I can fit in". Some close friends and family though... different story.

Pics of the gazebo pliz! Didn't know you had one of them yokes...

Well done on the organic shopping Zen there are a few organic farmers markets around Dublin mostly at weekends but they are more expensive and then the travelling but may be one day I might try make the extra effort. The cruise is for 7 nights. Yes I do find Dundrum too big so I don't go there often and it always seems to be busy on any day at least the few times I've gone. Only been to Liffy Valley twice as it out of the way for me. City has better shops around Henry street and I like Jervis mall. Will go there later in the week. Oh also like St Stevens green SC it has no name boutique and Tk max among others.
TK Max is TJ Maxx over here... I buy most of my clobber there and at Marshalls. And Kohls... I like that store too and have had a lot of luck there recently. I hardly ever shop at the mall as I enjoy the thrill of the chase in getting a good bargain. I wore a shirt yesterday (Anne Klein) that had started out at $79.00... by the time I got my hands on it I paid $15.

Some of the organic places can be a real rip off. I'm glad to have found this one place, even if it's a bit of a hike.

          When is your cruise again?

Did it go back on in different areas? Huh. Maybe that explains what those bulges are at this weight...

Yes Benjy --- I NEVER ate sweets or biccies or cakes nor nothing --- in fact used to feel quite superior when my friends would be discussing the desserts on the dinner menu when out..... now I love sweet goodies - it HAS to be the replacement for the sugar in the grog --- I did think that would balance out --- but it hasn't for me anyway
And yes both of you --- I've heard you can have sugar w/d's alright - bit like caffeine w/d's which I've discovered are very very real!!!! And I drink FAR too much coffee --- I've started substituting de-caff a bit.......
Mollers... there ARE sugars in milk but it's negligible. And, aye, if you're serious about losing weight the low-carb way (only way imho) the fruit has to get put aside for a while. I don't think fruit sugar is bad for you though... only if you're looking to lose weight.

I reckon we're going to see people eating more fat and less carbs in the foreseeable future. Already started letting myself eat more fat. It really does seem like carbs are the killers, with sugar being the no. 1 culprit...

Good going on the country house hotel Whizzy! :goodjob: Enjoy the peace and quiet...

I'd like to know how they send the parcels. I have to declare contents/value... always have had to. Maybe it's different from other countries? Next time I'm saying it's a box of rags that have zero value. Had I but know, that's what I'd have done.

I was just thinking of you this morning when I heard the rain banging of the conservatory roof. Oooh glad you're all nice and comfy. Shift over I'm on me way.

The thing is the general populous aren't alkies. They may drink too much on the odd occasion but not every fecking day.

Yeah, that's zactly what I mean. WE would notice a person not drinking but normies just don't pick up on that stuff.

De-caff coffee - totally pointless imho - may as well drink water.
Believe what they do to get the caffeine out is worse than the caffeine - just sayin'
