Ring a ding ding. Get your Undies on for Spring....

Morning Tawn and all to come! Tawny - I miss my cats ..... Please give yours an extra cuddle on behalf of mine :l

Have a nice day everyone :-)

I intend to be productive today - no POETS for me :H

As for all nighters ( predict text turned that into all nighties :H:H) - I think they are injurious to health. I generally view it as a practise engaged in by people who don't manage their time well. Or people who are overworked. I don't want to be in either category.

I like waking up to our North American undies!

    Better zoom ......

Ah yes. That would be me on both counts.

Miss B – forgot to say it sounds like you have a very healthy outlook on life!

Tawny what are your other readings like/ What was your Hb?

Sorry about the asthma Bird – I hope you get better soon.

BP 128/85 this am. I think I'm disappearing. Also just about to go for a swim and then I'm doing a kind of modified juice/soup cleanse for the next few days. Well, trying to anyway. We'll see how long it lasts.

      EDIT: forgot this bit sorry

              Hi Y'all,

Yey - Happs made it. Have fun and I've organised beaut weather for you. You're most welcome.

Well, Oscar and I have been up and about early today. Went for our long walk (he did two poops - which I picked up and brought home for the bin) and then I did many sit ups, side twists and not as many as I would have liked planks. Fusking hard those planks.

Glassy - I glance at my past with my eyes firmly shut. Dog, what hard work that was!!

Take care Tawny - you're doing more than you think I reckon. Caring for Nige is an awesome task.

Bridge - avoid all hateful stuff today. This is a directive - non negotiable.

Mr G - massive, tall, straight and strong salute to YOU!!

              Hey Techster!!

Going to check out a better gym today. The one I'm a member of is full of red neck bogans. Not that there is anything wrong with being one, I just want to be left alone when I'm there. This other option has a pool and zillions of classes suitable to my good self.

Missy - go hard my lovely!

Take care everyone, have a beautiful day. Remember, smell a rose or two today - it can't hurt! Well, unless you're allergic or sumfink.....

                Dear Missy,

Pls find below, my research submission relating to Research Topic 147 - Effects of High Winds on Mind and Body.

I would be delighted to receive feedback.

                Regards, Ms Nicey Always.

                *********
Research currently tells us that the effects are significant- and they are absolutely amazing. Our bodies responds to high winds, cold and temperature extremes immediate , efficiently and with profound results. The more we know about how weather effects us the less costly will be any untoward results such as illness or fatigue. It is a fascinating field.

People in Denver face a very high wind winter season due to La Nina according to NOAA. What happens when we are exposed to high winds and what can we do to minimize negative effects? And why does being outdoors in high winds make us feel so exhausted.

Research on weather effect on health reveal that there are many immediate responses to high winds such as forecast for today and this entire winter for Denver.

Wind surrounds the body , hitting the frontal areas and curving around shoulder and silhouette. This very quickly removes the established and protective layer of warmer and more humid air. Immediately your entire body is surrounded with cooler and drier air. Every physical system must respond to that environmental demand and it does so in milliseconds.

High winds , strong winds such as we face this winter in Denver will increase dopamine production in the brain as a response to the street on the body. This “stress hormone” makes a high demand on our systems and the body can not sustain this high level of guardedness for very long. The result is that the entire body will experience fatigue due to the dopamine increase and the demands of stress.. It is not your imagination when you feel very tired after being outdoors in a strong wind.

Health protection is advised to minimize these costly effects. The elderly and youngsters are more prone to negative effect than others because their temperature control systems are not as efficient as most others. Those who have high blood glucose most likely also have peripheral neuropathy and they are endangered by not sensing the cold in feet and lower legs as accurately. The risk therefore is of frostbite. All these factors must be taken into account.

                The experts advise:

Drink a lot of water as the effect of the wind is dehydrating as noted above

Wear a hat and a scarf even when the temperature does not seem to be cold enough to warrant them.

Eat very lightly before going outdoors into a high wind. Do not go outdoors after a heavy meal.

If there is even a remote chance of precipitation, wear water proof clothing. The heat loss in high wind is much greater and damp clothing accelerates that effect tremendously.

Place your scarf over nose and mouth in moderate to high winds. This is a very helpful yet underutilized piece of health advice. It makes an enormous difference on the negative effects of all La Nina weather.

Enjoy the weather extremes of living in Colorado. Don’t neglect your downtown stroll on the 16th St. mall because of meteorological phenomena., just be well prepared to minimize health drains by using the expert recommendations listed above.

Living in the weather extremes that change so very rapidly in Colorado means that the more we know about the effects on our health, the better.

I have been issued a directive re: no hate posts (thankyou Nicey) so I will desist except to say that I feel I will swap my Gates for a Jobs very soon.

Think I've just got a bit too much thinking time these days Glassy. Not only do I find myself staring at the past, but pointing, laughing and poking out my tongue. No manners.

So glad I spent an enormous amount of time trimming the garden with nail scissors the last month. Now the wind has blown it to fecking hell. Screening plants down, shit everywhere. (no hate posts....sorry).......

                    Forensic read back....commence.....
