Hello Sunday morning.:rays:
Well, I cocked up last weekend and am now back on day 4. I'd been halfheartedly stopping and starting and moderating and all your talk of 90 days and 2 years made me ashamed so here I am again. I guess I'm now the baby of the group again. There's two ways of looking at the holes in your shoes

Listen mate.
I am not in the business of offering myself or anyone else excuses to drink or relapse. But there was something we touched on last week which I've put a bit of thought into since. My honest opinion is that if we bugger up, we just get up dust off and run at it again.
I find that attitude much more constructive than 'I fucked up so I'm going to give up'
I've seen so many people in this place throw their hands up at the first hurdle and disappear, only to reappear a year later badly messed up and in dire need of help. Sometimes it makes me wonder if they were really ready to give it the heave at all.
Surely it's better to just plough on now?
It will stick. If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Thanks Bridge - wise words.
Yep, all dust is now removed and I'm having a damn good crack at it this time. I agree, there have been lots of times when in retrospect I didn't really want to quit, I just didn't want the unpleasant side effects.
It's funny how we have that 'I fucked up so I might as well give up' mentality with some things. If we ding the car on a post, we don't say 'well I might as well smash it into a wall now'. So I'm going to repair my little ding and keep driving.
All of you get ready to put your pointiest toed boots on. If I get tempted I'll come here first. There's two ways of looking at the holes in your shoes

Morning bridge, nicey and all to come,
A shit windy day here, thunderstorms as well, very conducive to driving a couple of hundred kms to see my friends!
Good going on day 4,glassy. I am not in any position to lecture, hey, you must be feeling pretty good at this stage, so well done on being AF for a4 days!
I need another cuppa.

I agree with Bridge and with TAwny's comments last week about focussing on the time that you did manage to stay AF. I was reading something about Hello Sunday Morning (which has apparently been incredibly sucessful in Australia and NZ, particularly with younger people. The article quaoted one of the HSM people as saying that they thought that it worked because it offered people an positive option - ie; feeling better about themselves and their lives - rather than beating them over the head with a big stick.
And one of the reasons that MWO works for me is that I've never felt judged when I've messed up, and had nothing but the best ever support from people here - whether I've been strugglin with the booze or with other things that have been going on in my life.Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

Cori, one thing I said in the post last night that got lost was about your credit card being cut off. Quite frankly the assumptions underlying that action are incredibly rude in my view. Has your husband's card been cut off? What protection do you have that he wont incur debt on it that you will be liable for??
You worked awfully hard on that property for a long time. Until there is a full and final settlement between you, you should still be receiving some income frrom it.
I know it is really hard to stick up for yourself on the financial stuff when your emotions are raw, but please dont let yourself be done over. Get yourself a decent lawyer who can deal with the practical stuff on your behalf so that you can get on with your healing. :l:lNever give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

Morning Bridgey, Noicey, Corri, Glassy, and y'all,
Safe travel's Cozza! Sound's like it's worth the trip to connect with mates.
Glassy, ripper stuff on day 4. This is a cunning, baffling and seemingly irrational affliction we face, but it can and is overcome. I agree wholeheartedly with the Jones girl.
What a glorious, i say glorious spring morning it is here. I'm talkin' 'bout a revolution. Orf to band practice ron, noice.
xpost. Morning Missy! (big wave)
Wishing everyone a safe, sober, and magical day.
