Hi all,

My family and I are doing a walk on June 3rd in Manhattan sponsored by autismspeaks.org , the largest autism awareness orginization that exists.

We have created a team called "Sophie's Steppers" in name of our daughter, but will be walking to benefit all children with autism to raise money for research and awareness. Click on the link if you are interested in contributing, or if you just want to see a pic of my really cute kid!

Not sure if the was the appropriate place to post this, disregard it if you feel that way by all means. I figured it would be ok since a fundraiser was done on here once before.

I watched the Oprah show. Very educational. I now realize this is a very serious, growing problem, maybe even epidemic. I did not know that. I do not understand. I wish we knew the root causes. I am very troubled by this disease & ADHD (in my nieces & nephews). I wish I understood why. I pray we get to the root.

There may be a chance I could come - evern though I live in the midwest - I'm from Philly - and live in Fort Lee for awhile - anyway, Ivisit family alot and go to NYC almost everytime I visit - I will try to make it happen and let you know - I think our kids are worth the effor to raise awareness!
