Been having a difficult time over the past few weeks and do not feel able to share very personal stuff over the internet.

Last week I developed a painful knee which I could put up with if I wasn't doing the Chester Marathon next Sunday.
Great to see you whizzy! Sorry about the personal stuff - and the knee - I hope both problems resolve themselves quickly. I agree with molly that there're ways of talking about personal stuff without actually talking about the personal bits, if that makes sense, and it can be ever so helpful sometimes.

Mr S likes the pub, racing & telly in that order. I hate all those now. He would no more sit in and play trivial pursuit than me go to a football match. He wants to go to Carlingford for October long weekend.
But I know our weekends there involved: after say- 4pm mostly it's the little pub with the open fire. Now I can do this - but not 'till 1 am in the morning - which is what he wants.
Simple pleasures he is not into I'm afraid - needs to be entertained at all times
Tried many's a time - even at Christmas to play games etc. he will not join in - just watching 'effin telly. Then off racing Boxing Day.
I can sympathise with your problem satzy, just don't have any answers I'm afraid.

Morning questie. Don't worry about last night, we've all done it. Try and see if there's something you can learn from it and then concentrate on the future and forget about the past.

            .
Y'know Recs, I read very recently similar advice about running uber long distances - don't think about the miles you've done, think about the ones ahead (cos that will gauge how you are best to act/run in the moment - run too fast, and you wont see the finish).

So, Questy heed Recs advice - do what you can now to ensure the road ahead is the one you want to, and can, take tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow. :l

Whizzy - SO lovely to see you on the boards - thanks for the advice, :l I think it's a combo of hydration and posture. Will work on it. How is your knee? Please do rest it - I have no doubt that you have put in the training and your legs are totally fine for Chester - so just ease the knee. Sending positive knee-healing vibes your way :l

Arseous: will you be running in the Chester marathon too?

:wavin: Army. Home safe. The house isn't in perfect order, but what would you expect from a 20 y/o? All the pets bar one budgie in good condition. Apparently one of the cats executed it claw and jaw style

JC: I missed you, but in case you get a chance to check in: enjoy the few days away.

Now for the not-so-nice bit - doing the internet banking transfer for our accommodation costs.

Then a nanna nap. Do you know, I didn't nap even once while we were away? Too much to do, I guess. I also only finished the last 1/5th of a book and didn't start a new one.
              I'll do whatever it takes

                Hi everyone

                Bye Jackie

RC you could try pull ups and press ups (working opposing muscle groups for balance), all you need is a bar or a ledge, even branch of a tree. Lots of runners end up hunching, I was known for my upright style but I did put in 2 sessions a week at the gym.

Can you perhaps swim instead?Swimming uses the back muscles and might help with fatigue in that area, also breathing too.

Oh and Satz if it's any help I went to a 'club' type night last night, it was a bring yer own booze, free soft drinks. My other half had 2 bottles of beer, I had 2 cans diet coke. Had a dance, ended up chatting to each other remainder of the evening. Felt really relaxed, I remember being there a year or two ago on TSM, having a drink (cos you can on that) and just not enjoying it as much cos I was sort of still worried about the grog. Wiv the diet coke I'm not arsed, and also feel less self-conscious.

                  Funny how things turn around.

Stayed out until after 2am, no substances involved apart from caffeine in the coke.

Saw a shop today on my travels "Molly's" it was called, think it was either sewing and haberdashery or children and ladies clothing. Whatever it was it made me think of you and the Army.
